A real-roller coaster ride is planned to open at Magic Kingdom in Fall 2007 taking you through the actual sets of the film and taking you at amazing speeds and a 56 foot drop. The plot is not yet chosen but the engineers think it will be you in a limo trying to stop Sharpay from taking over a show in Hollywood.

Disney is a company it knows its a fad and is milking it really bad.

That would be really cool! HSM is actually a good movie, Im looking forward to the premiere on the one is August. Im not sure why so many people hate it, but oh well. That would be a great rollercoaster, great scenes, but the plot of it could be worked on. The whole sharpay, hollywood thing doesnt really click very well.

Are you sure of that date? That isn't very far away, and it's not under construction yet. (Unless they started it since I was there a couple of weeks ago) It took a year or more to build Everest. I think maybe it would have to be 2008.

They arent kicking themselves in the back that hard, because the plan for the third movie is also planned to show up in theatres. Sure they are milking HSM of all its worth, but it has potential and I doubt it will die for a long while. If it wasnt good then why did they win awards for most viewers, and then the second time it showed they had almost the same amount?- I do have to admit that HSM is very popular, but not my cup of tea.

From what I've seen the HSM Pep Rally at MGM (or wherever) is a popular thing to watch. If Disney can do HSM for a parade/pep rally then they sure can make it bigger with a ride.

Making a roller coaster based on high school musical would be like making a roller coaster on Bambi. It just wouldn't seem right.

I am all for any attraction based on HSM, but it seems like it would be out of place in the Magic Kingdom.

It would be better placed at either DCA ( hollywood) or at MGM studios, a Movie themed park.

Did you go to the HSM Concert with your little sister? Did you not hear the ittle 5-year old girls behid you screaming your lungs out. HSM is a good investment I really do not think it was targeted for teens. Maybe tweens! :)

People just don't like it, I don't. I have to say, I probably wouldn't be against it as much if Disney didn't make it such a big deal. They've released other movies on Disney Channel that I didn't like, however they didn't really bother me as much because I only saw them, or parts of them, once. HSM commercials are on constantly, they show clips of the concert, etc. and that gets annoying; if they had just left it like any other DC movie, people would forget about it and it wouldn't be such a big deal. :twocents:

56 feet... California Screamin' at DCA is 108' feet; which isn't extremely tall. It would seem this ride is aimed towards a younger audience.

It doesn't matter... Disney is not stupid enough to build a roller coaster based on a Disney Channel original movie. While Eisner or Pressler might have considered it, Lasseter won't allow it. It's stupid and this isn't even a real rumour... this is coming from WIKIPEDIA. This is about as true as the supposed new "disco ballroom" at Haunted Mansion that was also reported on Wikipedida!

Its not that its a bad movie, people have their likes and dislikes. Alot of people on this board that don't like it aren't in Disney's "target audience". If Disney didn't take it too far I wouldn't dislike it as much. But since we're constantly seeing something HSM on the Disney Channel I think that those of us who didn't care for the movie in the first place grow to not like it even more.

Plus I dislike the movie because its all about the preppyness. I mean who starts to sing about crambulet and hip hop horray and the cello yay during school lunch. This is going to be a broadway play soon enough >_> I think disney is going OVERBOARD with this ride.

No, I see no construction what so ever in the means of a rolelr coaster in Magic Kingdom. I knwo they are trying to construct one but not in Magic Kingdom. DEFINATELY overboard. I was actually suprised that I didn't see too many HSM-related items in DLR. I thought it would've taken over DLR. Thank goodness it didn't...

A ROLLER COASTER!?

First: Fall of '07 is what, a couple months away. No roller coaster confirmed AT ALL.

Second: I don't see how a roller coaster could take you through sets of HSM if it's zipping through the ride. The point of a roller coaster is to take you through speeds and drops, hills and chills. NOT HSM.

Stupid investment if they do happen to create it.

Third: Wikipedia is open to anyone to post. This could be bogus for all we know. I want to see concept art from Disney before I believe anything.

the high school phenomenon has arrived to Argentina, they went on tour and had 1 or 2 concerts there, after that, a tv show has started and they are looking for future high school kids.
I don't know if they will start a high school musical in Spanish or they pretend to be in the next movie.
The show has the Disney label.

Most people (me, for instance) don't hate it, really. In fact, I liked it quite well. I'm just tired of having to see it everywhere I go.

For instance, in the movie Matilda, the villain of the movie tortures a young boy by giving him a fairly tasty piece of cake. Then another. Then another. Then finally, one about a foot tall and as big around as a tire. Whenever I hear about some new HSM thingabob, I think of that lady saying "MORE CAKE! MORE CAKE!"

So in the end, we will all become very, very fat.

Now, as I type this, they're probably starting work on HSM the Animated Series. :P

To me this sounds like another Rockin Roller Coaster, I loove the ride but they need to make it just as good but alot longer. =)

High School Musical this and that, IF they make this ride they'll trash the castle white and red and come out singing '' What time is it? Our new ride and its the best thing. If anything like this ever happens i will never go to WDW again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!
