View Full Version : When to go to WDW? HELP ASAP!!
Marysol 06-24-2007, 02:03 PM Hey guys, so im not sure when I want to go to WDW. We always go the last week of August since we own a timeshare that lets us go during that time. We recentlly bought another timeshare that lets us go the last week of July, and the First week of August. This is 2 weeks, comapred to the one I mentioned above. I was wondering If I could get some PROS and CONS of each vacation time, and which one is best overall. Thanks.
Pros of Last Week in August
Cooler
Not as Busy
Little, to no wait!
Cons
To quite?
Off season
Not everything is open
School starts as soon as we get back
Only a week
Pros of Last week in July, First week in August
Nice Temp.
Middle of Summer [no rush]
Most things open
2 weeks!
Cons
Gets SUPER HOT
Busy
Personally, im leaning towards the July/August one. Why? Well its two weeks, I think I would be able to get more done then 1 week, Busy or Not. Ive been to WDW in both these times, but unsure of which is best.
Speed_Bolt 06-24-2007, 02:05 PM The one where it is less busy is better.... lines are less then 10 minutes for each ride.
Even though you like the one where you go for two weeks, lines will take forever and the weather makes it miserable.
prela 06-24-2007, 02:06 PM i say take the one that is 2 weeks but thats only bc i dont mind the waits :D id rather have an extra week there that way if there is no waits for some odd reason ud have all that time to do stuff @_@

Yes, the weather is horrible. But I know we can stand it.

IMO, I think that since we have two weeks we can accopmlish everything. We are WDW Pros and know how to handle these line sorts of situations. ALso, the time you have mean you can do more.
snowegoof 06-24-2007, 04:38 PM ugh. The first time I went was in summer, and it was HORRIBLE. It was so hot we barely did anything. The last week of august is better, no wait and nice temp. plus, if you only go for one week, you will have enough money to go again soon, say around october of next year, when MNSSHP is around. That was fun.
CapnOlaf 06-24-2007, 04:54 PM The best time to go is probably inbetween Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Just remember to wear warm clothing.

Oh, yea. The Temp. is such a major factor. We are very used to the heat though. Its still hot in the last week, but i really want to go for two weeks. We are not going for halloween though. But for Christmas.

Did you read my first post?? I was asking what was better end of august, or end of july beiging of august. We are going for Christmas though, as well.
I need to know which is better, minus the temeperature. I need to book a flight tonight.
GreatGatsby 06-26-2007, 12:09 PM Check out this website:
http://www.touringplans.com
It's the official website of the "Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World."
On it you'll find a link to their attendance numbers based on the time of year. This information has been compiled by their direct observation of over 15 years, so you'll get the best idea of the highest and lowest crowds in the resort.
I've never looked at the times you've asked about - I've been to Florida twice in August and vowed never to again. My personal favorites are mid-November and late January, as the crowds are the absolute lowest and the weather is great. But July/August is one of the busiest seasons, as is Christmas. Not my ideal.
Facnyface 06-26-2007, 12:56 PM Neither time. It's always picking up more and more then. July is by far one of the busyest months.
GreenGirlJess 06-26-2007, 04:02 PM It totally depends on the time frame (early morning, noon, later in the evening?) and which parks.
For us, it usually isn't to busy. You just have to have a plan. What rides do you want to go on, what shows do you want to see and such. Then, if it is a busy ride, go on it during a parade or fire work show, if not, go on it anytime.
AstroScarlett 06-26-2007, 04:07 PM I say the 2 week one in July. . . That way if it does get too hot then you can always go back to hotel and take a nap/swim in the pool because you have the time to relax! 1 week is good too, but come on! It's Disney World! Take the longer one! ;) Have fun =]
