I'm pretty sure I have Pyrophobia — fear of fire.

I think I've always been afraid of fire, and when I was in 1st or 2nd grade during after care (day care after school) there was a fire across the street, and I was crying and totally flipped out, which really set the fear off. I went to conseling during 2nd grade because of it.

I probably have a minor case- I don't mind little candles or small, under control fires, such as wood stoves (though they do make me scared) and campfires... But bon fires and any other type, inculding people tormenting me with a lighter, freak me out.

I don't like loud noises either (gun shots, fire works- let me tell you, 4th of July is my worst hated holiday, concerts, etc etc.) so Ligyrophobia — fear of loud noises, as well.

.-. I'm weird.

It would be funny for somebody to have a fear of fears. Phobias of a phobia. Woah.

Like in an elevator or something. If I'm in there longer then a minute I start to freak out. Stuff like that. I Just hate small spaces.

I have Entomophobia.

I'm especially afraid of insects at night.. My dad lives by the forest, so he has a lot of bugs. Last year when I was sleeping over his house their were three lightning bugs and some big bug that ate misquitos in my room. I freaked out and went to go get my dad to kill them. He killed a lightning bug, but he couldn't find the others. So I was up all night. Crying and shaking. Because of the bugs.
Actually, the lightning bugs were what scared me the most because they kept flying around me, and they landed on my bed. While the giant insect just sat on the other side of the room, doing nothing.
I'm especially afraid of them when they're not where they're supposed to be. Like when they were in my room.. insects are not supposed to be in my room. They should be OUTSIDE.

Algophobia — fear of pain.

Everytime I go to the doctor to get a shot I always flip out and become tense, even though I know it does not hurt one bit. I am also afraid of any type of procedures or something that I know might hurt in the near future. If I fall and skin my knee or something like that, I'm totally fine. I actually can tolerate pain very well. I'm weird.

I'm not necesarily "scared" of blood, I hate medical discussions or seeing blood though. ( If it's just a little, I'm fine. ) I just lost my molar today ( Woohoo, that will never grow back! Grr... ) And it had blood coming out for like twenty minutes, I couldn't even speak clearly.

I just realized it a couple of years ago when I was standing in this tall building in Raleigh, North Carolina, and the floor was like glass so you could see all the way down. Yeah, never going there again. lol. But it's weird, whenever I'm on like an airplane or roller coaster I'm not scared then. Weird. :confused:

~Canineophobia, I am very much afraid of dogs. But I doubt that was the correct word. It's summat I haven't heard.
~I'm afraid of bugs, in a way. Mostly when they are on me, or if it's a mosquito eater. I am really afraid of those things, because a two-headed one landed on me once. It creeped the snot out of me.
~As for the person who said Hemophobia, I have that too. Not so much my own blood, but seeing other people bleed.

~Does anyone else think it's double gross with knobs when someone shows you their loose teeth? I hate it when people do that.

I have a couple.

Necrophobia, which is the feath of death/dead people or things. This is my worst fear. You should see how crazy I get from just THINKING about this type of thing.

Also Lilapsophobia, which is the fear of tornados and hurricanes.

Speaking of tornados and hurricanes, one of the scarriest scenes i've ever seen in a movie is the malestrom (sp?) part in POTC 3. That scared me so much. I get the chills every time I see it.

By the way, thanks for making this topic ^.^ I'm really interested in this type of thing.

EDIT: One more thing I forgot: tsunamis, or just really big waves. I once saw a scene from a movie where a comet struck the ocean, and a HUGE wave completely knocked out everything. It was very eggagerated (haha, I didn't spell that right :X), but still creepy.

omg, me too. although, i still chew my fingernails :rolleyes: but, i get really reallu sad when i get sick and i hate touching other peoples stuff and use germ-x all the time!

omg i am the biggest arachnaphobiac you will find (i cant spell it but fear of spiders *shudders*) In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets i cant watch the spider scene. I use to play a certain MMORPG with 8 million people and they ahd very realistic giant spiders in it and i would almost faint when one snuck up behind me. My friends make fun of me for it :(. Also i dont know the technical term of it but im scared of needles. Not as bad as my fear of spiders but i am pretty scared of needles. I guess thats it

I was at the top of a lighthouse once((My parents made me go up)) and I was scared like ..not half to death but.. ten times to death. -(O_o)- When I got on an airplane..I was the whole time ******** out, like thinking the plane was going to start falling from the sky.. Why else would there be life vests and parachutes in it.. -(0_o)- And.. Cant think of more on that subject right now)

I have a fear of putting pressure on your neck or wrist, the part with the big vein (I forget what it is) and getting blood taken out of the part under your elbow. If anyone ever bends their hand back really far or touches that part of their arm I feel like I'm going to throw up. @_@ I also have a fear of people getting sick in vehicles.

I have a fear of stone diving boards, when people dive off of it. I saw my cousin do it once, and he almost hit his head. I only jump, never dive.

I don't think there's a name for it, but for some reason, I get freaked out by some memories I have from a long time ago, like, when I was 5 or 7 years old. I used to live in then I moved to [insert place here], and when I go back to my old town, if I go somewhere I haven't been in a while (Like a certain movie theater or inside my old house) I get a little nervous or freaked out. But people don't scare me. Only places.

Oh yeah, and if I'm on top of an apartment building, I can't look down at the street below me because I think (Well, actually, I KNOW) I'll fall. Ya know the scene in RENT "What You Own"? Well, whenever I see Roger and Mark on top of the building, I'm like "How do they do that?!" the song Glory also makes me wonder. Once, I was on my grandpa's apartment building top, and while my little brother (Who was 3 at the time) was tossing paper airplanes off the roof, I was literally [i]crawling around (I was about 5 I think, and was able to walk, mind you.)

flash screamers always scare me to death. i hate them. it always sends me to fall backwards out of my chair. The Japanese Maze Game and the on with illusions scared me the most. I've only been able to stand one called the Jingle Bells Reversed

I am clownaphobic (i dont remember technical term if any) -i was threeish and i was at a circus and the clown came up and got in my face and made the "boogabooga" sound-
I cannot look at a toilet or even be close to a toilet while flushing it. even if empty. -in pre-k a kid flushed a urinal with the out of order sign on it. i was next to said urinal, didn't get wet, but still..-
I am semi-afraid of darkness. inside darkness, i can deal with. its the outside i don't like.
I'm not a people-phobe, but i have a serious personal bubble. if someone gets within two feet of me i back off the same length away that they walked forward. this makes it very difficult for me to be in those high-school clique conversations, and also makes marching band difficult too. I have never noticed this until it was pointed out to me by a fellow marching member during pratice, and they have been trying to burst my bubble since >.<

Whenever I go up those stairs to a waterslide - I always fear that they will fall and I'll fall down with them, and going on those really skinny slides that show the top open those scare me more that they will fall and I'll fall down with them. And the balcony at those violin concerts scare me even MORE, they're so far in and down and it REALLY scares me

Also, fear of medical watch/talk. It always makes me nervous when my mom watches the Discovery Channel, and mostly they have medical stuff, which REALLY freaks me out and same with the talk. It's making me nervous right now even thinking about it O_o

Public speaking (Glossophobia). Everytime I have to go up in front of my class, even if im friends with everyone I freak out. My hands get all sweaty and I cant stop thinking that im going to mess something up and everyones going to laugh at me, even if I know they wont.

Fear of darkness (Nyctophobia). Im not really scared of inside darkness, its the outside im afraid of. I always think someone is out there.

Fear of the ocean (not sure what its called). I wont even step a foot into the ocean. Im scared that a shark or something is going to attack me. The farthest I go is where the water is to the top of my foot. It also scares me because half the time I cant see through the water to the bottom, so I dont know whats there.

Fear of huge sharks (not sure what its called). Im especially scared of ones like great whites, hammerheads, tiger sharks and bull sharks. I dont mind when their small though, its just when their like 2 feet or longer. I find them facinating to study though.

Triskadekaphobia - Fear of the number 13, I'm not really afraid of it, I just really consider it unlucky, although not to an extreme exctent.

Arachnophobia. -Fear of Spiders

Thalassophobia - Fear of the sea or ocean - Not to a full exctent, I'm more afraid of dangerous sea life.

I'm mostly afraid of insects, especially spiders, scorpions and roaches.

I have fear of bees and most insects. >___<'
Fear of scary movies too.

5.CLOWNS! 1 stepped on my foot when i was 4 and now i hate circuses and fairs.
6. Theme park rides *shivers*
7. And last and LEAST.. Im afraid of tapping noises, like someone knocking on the door and i'll go "AAUGGHHH!!!!" And go hide somewhere -.-

arachnaphobia lol I cant spell it. one thing that is also a little weird to me is like Im a little afraid of hieghts if im out in the open. Like if I walk up stairs to like 300 feet or something I would be a little scared but If it was a rollercoaster going up 300 feet I wouldnt be scared so it's a little weird for me ;)

My friend has arachnophobia, which makes me chuckle now and then.
Because once, I was at her house and we were kicking around this big paint brush and it landed in a bush, which made half of the whole bush sag to one side.
She ran to go get it and she saw a big toy tarantella (sp?) that we hung up on her house for halloween and she thought it was real...
She called for me to come, and after arguing for a few moments, I came.
I looked down and noticed it was that ridiculous fake spider from halloween. It looked sorta real, but I bent down and picked it up.
I said, "Dude, it's that spider from halloween.."

So, now I always make fun of her from that spider story. xDD

I dont really have a phobia or fear of anything really @_@ but i used to have Achluophobia which is the fear of being in the dark now i could sit in the dark all day lol oh yea and there is a Phobia called Anatidaephobia which means the fear of that somewhere, somehow, a duck is watching you 0_o now that is just plain weird lol

I hate 'em both ways.

I'm afraid of being alone after nine o'clock at night.
I'm afraid of insects.
I'm a little afraid of tight spaces. (like the school bus. I have trouble breathing when I'm on the bus, so I start to freak out a little...)
I used to be afraid of heights.
I'm afraid of stray dogs.
My friends would say I'm afraid of the color pink... But I'm not.
I used to be afraid of thunder storms. Like once when I was in third grade there was a thunder storm during school. I was crying. But not as much as this one boy who was in my class.
I'm also afraid of bees... If I see a bee, I freeze up.
I also used to be afraid of ovens.
I'm afraid of the dentist and of nurses... (Don't ask about the nurses thing... I was four and it was a nightmare... Probably)
I just realized this, but ever since the day after Chirstmas I've been afraid of the road by the Borders book store in my town. My dad took me there to spend my giftcard and we almost crashed into another car.
That's all I'm afraid of... I think.

I am scared of SPIDERS and CLOWNS!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so scared of spiders I can't even step on them. I'm afraid they're going to attack me @_@. A little bit scared of heights, but not too bad. Clowns are just scary it's as simple as that.

I'm claustrophobic. But probably just a minor case. I'm okay in elevators and stuff, but if it's dark and small and I know I cannot get out, then I freak. I can sleep with a blanket over my head, because I know I can get it off. When friends hug me tightly for more than 3-5 seconds I may start getting nervous.

- Ombrophobia- Fear of rain or of being rained on.

Wow. I'm actually the opposite of a lot of these. I like rain and thunderstorms, fish, the dark, i don't mind being alone but I like lots of people too, and I don't really mind clowns or the number 666, or really long words.
