I was talking to one person who had just gotten a makeover and she said that a host came into the dungeon, where she was at and told everyone to stop. Then she asked a question, and this person got it right, so they won a room make-over..

I don't know if this is true or not, but I trust the person who told it to me.. so I assume this is one of the ways staff picks who gets it.

This is correct. But that might have been a one off, so dont spend all your time looking for lily. The makeover on thursdays normally happens in the evening, so just keep a look out :)

At first I didn't know the makeover thing was random so i just spent like almost the whole day in my room waiting for a host to go to my room. What a nice way to waste time.

Well, you can't really be promised a room makeover. Makeovers are randomly picked from the submitions. But I can tell you how to submit an entry.
1. Click "Contact Us" at the bottom on the VMK home page.
2. Enter your LOG IN (not character) name and birthday.
3. Select "Room Makeover Submition"
4. Enter your character's name.

You enter it using contact us and then they randomly pick someone and when you win, you get a lovely room ;)
