Michael Apted on Directing Narnia 3

Disney and Walden Media made it official on Tuesday that Michael Apted will direct The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and [the source web site editors] caught up with Apted who shared a few words with us about the announcement.

"I'm thrilled to be asked to make the film. It's something new and a great challenge," said Apted about taking on the project. Mark Johnson will produce along with Andrew Adamson, who directed the first "Narnia" and is currently directing the second installment. Returning cast members for the third film include Ben Barnes, Georgie Henley and Skandar Keynes.

Filming on "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" will begin in January for a May 1, 2009 release. The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian opens on May 16, 2008.

I liked Prince Caspain better than Dawn Treader. (Books) I liked the ending though, shiny water.

Sounds like a good movie series. -thumbsup-

Sweetness.. they're probably gonna make every single Narnia book into a movie, I just know that ;) anyways, I found the imdb about it

Things are still shaky at the moment past "Silver Chair" (which even the cheapo BBC series never went past):
Nobody ever wants to do the Side Story ("Horse and His Boy"), or the Prequel ("Magician's Nephew") required for the Finale ("Last Battle")

Also, hope it's a typo that the same actor is credited as Caspian in both "Prince" and "Treader", as they're supposed to be about ten years apart--
"Prince" at twelve, and "Treader" at college-hunk age, which is also alluded to in historical changes that have taken place between the two books.
