Can we close our own thread in any forum instead of just the trading area. It will make it alot easyer on the mods and the members as well.

I asked SpinMarty about this awhile back. He said MODs aren't really THAT busy so they can close them upon being asked to.

OFF Topic: Can you reply to my PM?

You can only close your own threads in the trading forums AND the Arts forums.

If you wish to have a thread of yours closed in a forum other than those, just PM a mod that is online at the time and we can close it. Or ask a mod in our live chat (for those who don't know, that is located on our home page)

We've given the users the ability to open and close threads in certain areas of some of the forums and often this was abused. Mods would close the threads due to them starting to violate policy or going in a bad direction. Users would just come along and re-open their threads defeating the whole purpose the mods had closed it..lol. Only other thing we could have done was move those closed threads to archive. Often, then another thread would be created on the same topic because most don't look in archive forums unless looking for something specific. Therefore, we've decided to restrict which areas of the forum granting this ability.

Like SpinMarty said, you can PM a mod, use a report a bad post button requesting a thread closed, or just come in live chat and ask an OP. Any of those methods are acceptable.

Cant you make it to where you can't reopen it? I know on my site which is VB you can set that setting by the user rankings.
