I don't think there is a 10 minute ban. That would just make the offenders take a very quick break before logging back in to break the Values again.

Also I remember being banned for a month in May last year, then about 6 months later I got banned for a month for a silly reason, then about 2 or 3 months later I got banned for a week. So I think it all depends on how bad the person was even though I am not actually a bad player in VMK. .-.

Well, actually they can ban your whole server...which prevents ANY accounts from playing vmk until the ban is up. They don't do this everytime, though.

Yup swim is right, If you are banned for a month or over, your IP Address gets banned from VMK so you can't use any accounts in the house your account got banned on. You can use other accounts in other houses if you are banned for a month or over but if you're still in the same house and your ban is for 1 week or less then you can still use your other accounts.

I was talking to a friend who said their ban was for TEN years! :eek: (I didn't ask what they did to deserve that) But, I got to thinking...aren't they deleting accounts after six months? so what is the point of banning someone beyond that? :confused:

yes i have once gotten a ban for 20 years for something really dumb but it ban my ip to so it ban all my computers and i could not go on the internet but i got back on bc i talk to yavn and staff

1 Warning (Orginally was 3)
2 Hours Of Banishment (Stayed The Same)
24 Hours Of Banishment (Stayed The Same)
1 Month Of Banishment (Skips The 1 Week)
10 Years Of Banishment (Stayed The Same But They Call It Forever)

But why are you asking? Just be a good player and follow the rules and you'll be fine.

*Note the ban times are for if you do minor things. The ammount of time varys by the ammount of how badly you did something in the game. Plus that is the steps, I believe scamming is auto 10 years.

I really don't think there is a year ban, if your account gets deleted after six months, why make a ban that would last forever anyways if there is already a 10 year?

2 hour bans 24 bans and week bans are IP address bans as well. Unfortunately (sp?) I know this from experiance, silly reasons that made absoloutly no sense. After the moderation updates I don't think month bans are one computer only. My friend recently got banned for a month and it was his entire IP address. But I believe 10 years is only one computer or the person only, I'm not sure. My friend recently got banned for 10 years for being in a room where a scammer scammed somebody and she could go on her sisters account. Just my 2 cents though :) thanks for the info

yeah you are right, but yavn said there will be no 2 hour bans anymore. they will go with 24 hour bans.

It all depends on what you did! I got banned for a month for giving out personal info. Then I got banned for another month for giving out personal info. If you get banned for a certain amount of time twice, and for the same reason, you get banned for ten years. Thats what happened to me! And yes, I deserved it. But really! Ten years!?!?! lol-not funny-.-

there is no point for one year or more, bans because your account would be gone by then.

I have a quesiton about bans. My daughter plays (her character is this character...Ginny) and she hasn't had a computer for awhile to even play. She signed on the other day and it said she couldn't play until October 26. We've had a virus so I don't know if that was it, or if she did something wrong. How can I find out why and what happened? I have an account and I signed on with it and it says that the computer is banned until that time. I'm very confused and I'm wondering what is happening. Can someone please help us. If she's done something I need to know what so I can explain to her why she was banned, but at this point I don't know what to tell her. Please Help! She's been a member since day one and October is her favorite month to play. She's never been banned before. Thanks!

That's strange, it doesn't say. Ours just says our computer was banned. It just pops up for a split second and goes away. We couldn't get signed in and I saw it pop up, then it goes away quickly. I wonder if there is a glitch or if it really is banned. If my daughter did something wrong I won't fight to get her back on, I will just explain to her what she did and tell her to accept the consequences and not do it again, but at this point she says she didn't do anything and I can't find out anything. I just want to find out why. Can you tell me where to look? We sign in, it runs through all of the things like it's downloading, then says we're disconnected, we do it again then it says it's banned. It's very strange. Thanks again for your help!

I have another question. I can sign her in, and it shows her name and how many credits she has, pins worn. There is nothing there about being banned. Would it show up there? It's only when we click on play now, it goes through all of the loading like it's working, then like I said, there's a very quick popup that is hard to catch, that is a little block and that's where it says computer is banned. How did you all find out, and is there a way to contact them? When I tried to contact them to find out what the problem was it gave me an error. Does this sound normal?

i got a 10 minute ban for someone asking me where i live. i didnt even answer (i wasnt going to) and it said you've been banned for 10 minutes >_< i hope the other person that asked me got banned for longer o_o

And if you ever get banned for "nothing," chances are you got a little out of hand earlier, or gave away personal information without you realizing it. Like say "I live by Disneyland/Disneyworld"

If you get a 10 year ban, you should contact vmk right away. If you wait too long, they will delete your account.
