View Full Version : Need help on instaling a game
kittenofthenight 06-17-2007, 09:17 PM Okay we have 2 computers in this house and i tried installing the game on both, it wont pop up, or when i go into the run program and do it that way it wont work either. Anyone else know what i can do? The game is 'The Sims 2 Deluxe' and its a PC DVD whatever that means...
Jezibabe 06-17-2007, 09:24 PM Hmm.. the only thing I can think of - not all computers can play DVDs, which they need to do for a PC DVD. If it was a PC CD-ROM it wouldn't be a problem. Can either of your computers play DVDs?? Apart from this, I am clueless too.

My mom says the one can, As i've said i've tried both
Alienboy 06-17-2007, 09:44 PM To see if the one computer can play a DVD, play a movie in it and see what happens and than well from there
PaperClip 06-18-2007, 01:45 AM Put the disc in, go to My Computer. If you can see that there is a disc in the drive there, then you are good to go. (Double click it if you see it).
kittenofthenight 06-18-2007, 02:33 AM Well i think we fugured out whats wrong, cause we tried putting a dvd in and it wouldn't work, so something's wrong with our tower, thing.

If that didn't work, chances are that you don't have a DVD-ROM drive. (DVD+-RW(DL)) will do all of that. If you look at the drive tray, you MIGHT see the logos. Look for one that says DVD then has a disc under it. It MIGHT say ROM right beside it. Not sure on that one. If it doesn't, make sure the drive is empty, then go to My Computer, and see what the optical drive's name is. (Might just say CD drive.)

Yeah, but as me and my sister (The tech geeks of the family) figured out, it doesn't play any disks, and we cant burn CDs either.

Than the eye might be burned out or just broken in general.

The lens might be ruined then. Try to get another drive for it.
