View Full Version : Life Changes
nintendogsluver 06-17-2007, 08:44 AM Okay, I think everyone knows how it feels like to be the new kid in school at some point right? Well, that's exactly the same thing I'm going through for the fourth time now. I guess you could say it is my mom's fault. This is her fourth marriage, and I have had to go along with it. From moving to new states and attending new schools, I've pretty much done it all. Although I get loads of freedom, I always feel like I'm missing something in my life. It's like I'm missing a part of me, but I haven't quite figured out what it is.
Well, enough complaining about my mom and her choices back to my first day at school at Northwood Middle School. It's my 7th grade year, and we, as in my mom and I, had just finished unpacking our things into our new home with Josh, my mom's new husband aka my step-dad. Actually, his name is Joshua Fisher, but insists on me calling him Josh.
So yeah, it's the first day of school and I'm hoping to make a good impression as usual. Although, you could say it's difficult for me to fit in. I'll just tell you now, I get along much better with guys than girls, and normally that doesn't get me a good start at my schools. If you asked me about anything having to do with shopping, shoes, or any of that other girl stuff now, I would have absolutely no clue about it unless the shopping had to do with skateboarding gear. Well, that all changed when I met Summer Ford, the girl who I would soon find to be my best friend who would conquer all the obstacles of life with me.
PrincessTmkttt 06-17-2007, 01:04 PM Great, go on!
nintendogsluver 06-17-2007, 09:33 PM Really think so? I was just really bored and wanted to write something. I'll try to write another "chapter" soon.
Goofyono 06-17-2007, 09:36 PM omg yea you have to go on.. I can tell this is going to be the beginning of an obsession :p
nintendogsluver 06-17-2007, 09:58 PM Anyway, my mom has decided to take me to school today, she says it's a "big day" for me. It's just another grade up from 6th, and a new school, what's so big about that? But whatever, I'll just go along with it.
Once we arrive, it's pretty much like paradise for me. There are skateboarders everywhere here, okay maybe I'm exaggerating it a bit, but there were a lot of them, and for a moment, I actually thought I was going to get along fine at this school until I saw HER.
Summer Ford, an all-round everyone wants to be with her kind of gal, arrives at the same time. Now this girl was like the school's superstar, as I would soon find out. She was part of the school debate team, captain of the soccer team, student body president, and all that other good stuff that would look good on your application to college and so forth. At first sight, she didn't seem like the kind of girl I would personally befriend at any point in time during this 7th grade year, but boy was I wrong. Let's just rewind to when I first met her, which wasn't too long ago as I now sit in the far corner of the cafeteria eating what's left of my lunch.
It all started out fine I guess, I made some new friends, they were all practically guys, and I got along with the teachers. That was...until lunch. Now, the thing at this school is, is that if you didn't know who Summer Ford was, you were a nobody. Those who ever angered Summer Ford or her friends was just doomed apparently. Well, let's just say I certainly left my mark on Summer, and I may never leave the "loser table". For lunch today there was spaghetti, and sure it's all good, that is until you spill it on someone. It just so happens that Summer was wearing white pants that day and well....I think you get the point. It didn't end well AT ALL.
snowgalsnow 06-17-2007, 10:02 PM omg it is great
superdsuperd 06-17-2007, 10:07 PM lol im enjoying this and is this a true story?
Goofyono 06-17-2007, 10:07 PM wow you got the second chapter done fast lol ! yup I was right.. it is addicting @_@
nintendogsluver 06-17-2007, 10:08 PM Lol, once I start writing, the ideas just keep coming. I'm gonna try to spread them out a bit more.
No it's not a true story, but it would be interesting if it was wouldn't it?
superdsuperd 06-17-2007, 10:16 PM lol yea it would!
Jamarocker 06-17-2007, 10:28 PM I love stories with the main character as the narrator. It's great!
nintendogsluver 06-18-2007, 12:14 AM From that moment on, I knew I was going to be forced into exile. The friends I had soon made soon disappeared and I was found as "Public Enemy No.1" at Northwood. I found out for sure that I had just messed up my chance at having a good year here at Northwood when Summer confronted me about the incident. I was about to get my things for P.E. when Summer stops by my locker, she has this smile on her face that can't possibly real. She has here little posse with her too...
"Hi, I'm Summer, and I couldn't help but notice you spilled your lunch on me earlier."
"Oh yeah sorry about that..." I mumbled as I tried to get past her and her group to get to the bathroom to change. The nice "Summer" had just disappeared and the meaner, stricter "Summer" kicked in.
"Well, I just wanted to you know, set some ground rules. I'm the as you might call it the 'top dog' here, and I'm not going to let some new kid mess that up. Got it?"
"Yeah..." I said as I shuffled my feet. At the moment, I didn't want any confrontation, but I guess that's exactly what she wanted.
"You're gonna pay, because no one messes with Summer Ford and gets away with it."
"No one," her posse repeated as they turned around and stormed off to P.E.
superdsuperd 06-18-2007, 12:25 AM lol good! (to short)
nintendogsluver 06-19-2007, 12:35 AM It was from that day, that the Summer vs. Mandy rivalry started. From then on, we played pranks on each other regularly. Although the pranks were kind of "old school", as most would call it, that's how we were. There was the pat someone on the back and stick a sign on their back that read "kick me", or the place a bucket full of something disgusting over a doorway and wait for them to open the door and get that stuff all over them. It was all "fun and games" until we both got in trouble and received detention.
It was 2:30, and it was time to detention. As soon as I walked in, I saw Summer sitting in the far corner, trying to look small and not be seen by anyone else. I walked in and handed the teacher my slip.
"Miss Wright...interesting. Please have a seat over there next to Miss Ford."
I slowly dragged my feet over to the desk and slid into it. "I have to go get something, and when I get back, you all better be like you are now." As soon as the teacher left, everyone began to chatter "quietly".
"Hey, sorry for all those pranks Summer..."
"It's alright, it's my fault. It's just that I've never had anyone try to stand up to me before..."
"Well standing up to people isn't really my thing in the first place. The spaghetti incident was just an accident."
"Let's start new then. Do you want to hang out sometime?"
Just as I was about to answer, the teacher came back and the class soon became hushed. I turned to Summer and nodded with a smile, she would be the very first friend that I've had that's a girl.
MLKnCookies 06-19-2007, 01:14 AM great story :)
nintendogsluver 06-19-2007, 05:14 AM Thanks, anyone else have any thoughts.
Should I continue with the story?
Goofyono 06-19-2007, 05:48 AM you have to keep going. How could you stop at an unfinished story.. a good one at that. :D
superdsuperd 06-19-2007, 06:45 AM yea! you should im gettin into it!
Jackalope 06-19-2007, 02:21 PM Oh I love it =] Please keep writing!
For some reason it reminds me of Bridge to Terabithia, idk why though =P
Made In VMK 06-19-2007, 02:41 PM make a really pretty, new, popular girl who transfers and is very strict and summer and mandy must work together, for she stole mandy's friends to date and stole summer's friends as best friends, and now are both unpopular.
nintendogsluver 06-20-2007, 11:29 PM That's confusing, but I'll take it into consideration. =)
I'll write as soon as I can. I have one more day until summer break.
nintendogsluver 06-21-2007, 10:49 PM OFF TOPIC: SORRY FOR THE DP!
It's been 3 months now and things are going great between Summer and I. The "Summer and Mandy" friendship had taken the school by storm. There was no person at Northwood Middle School that didn't know about our friendship. At the time, we didn't think anyone could have torn us apart, until Ms. Hersh told us we were going to have a new student join in our class...
The new girl's name was Shirley Stevens, but don't let the name fool you. She isn't as happy and cheerful as you might think she would be. Ms. Hersh said looks can be decieving and that you can't judge a book by it's cover and all that other "good" stuff as soon as she heard Joe, the class clown make fun of Shirley's clothes. Normally, I would sit right next to Summer in class, but today Ms. Hersh decided to put Shirley right between us. I think this is what led to me and Summer slowly drifting apart, no longer the best of friends we had been earlier in the year.
Shirley being that lovely person she is, spread a rumor about me making fun of what Summer was wearing one day. She also spread a rumor about Summer saying I'm annoying and all this other mean stuff, but I didn't believe it was true. Summer wouldn't have, I just know she wouldn't have said something like that about me. I wouldn't have said her outfit looked funny either, I loved everything Summer wore, and sometimes even envied her for it. But I had to talk to Summer myself eventually and it didn't end so well...
"Summer, is it true you think I'm annoying?"
"Well, is it true that you thought my outfit looked funny the other day?"
"No of course not!"
"Then why was everyone in school talking about it? You must have said it to someone."
"No I didn't! It probably was just some lame rumor."
"Of course it was...and that's why the entire school was talking about it??" Summer began to storm off to her next class.
"Summer! I honestly didn't say..." I called after her, as she looked over her shoulder.
"Save it Mandy..." She turned left down the hall, and I didn't see her or talk to her for the rest of the day.
