Pin trading events are always slow. You usually have to be one of the first 100 or so people in line to have a chance at getting in.

Got in at 30 on me, and 242 on my son's (so he is very doubtful). We tend to rotate characters on these trade rooms. Curious to see what pins are available. Wish they would accept host pins (doesn't say they do). We'll see.

I find (based on four weeks last month) that the lines go around a person a minute. So you're really on the bubble if you are in line at positions 180-210 when the game opens (before that you get in barring any VMK problem, after that, not really a chance).

They usually accept host pins and weekend pins for these trading events. I mostly have decided on the pin I want to trade for already after looking at the picture. ;)

EDIT: As for best pin to get, I would go with the Surfing Pin. It was the host pin last year. :)

Well, my son is down to 135 with two hours to go. So he is within the bubble so-to-speak. So, he may get in -- YAY.

And we really need almost all the pins (and I do like the water park ones so, it will be good if we can get one or two every week!!).

When I was in the line waiting in the room, Phinny said she heart the little nemo pins. So, when I got up to trade, I gave her a Finding Nemo pin and she told me thanks :).

Sorry for those who missed out and glad for everyone who eeked in.

My son is fast asleep but he got in with 10 minutes to spare. I knew what he wanted so I got him his Summit pin (I would have chosen the surfing one or the one with the inner tube). :) So he will be pleased when he finds out.

I am so glad we can get some of the older pins this way and Thursday nights are usually good for us!

I got my VMK pass at 305 - and didn't get in the host room again. :( I've said it before and I'll say it again - there is no reason for a host game to move so slowly it averages less than 100 players per hour. VMK either needs to extend this event time, cut off the line at a certain point and guarantee that everyone on line gets to trade, or find a way to make it move faster (maybe have more than one host in the room trading) because this is crazy.

I forgot about this trade event and I didn't get in line until it was too later but I'm not really all that sad about it if those were the only pins she was trading. I have at least 2 of each of them and I don't really like any of them very much. I hope bext weeks pins are better and I hope I remember to get in the event, lol. - Posts a sticky note to the computer - ;)

I know with the older ones, I just really go with what series I like. As a "newer" player knowing and acquiring all the pin sets is an intimidating task. But on several family members, they really don't have any old series started LOL so I have a lot of flexibility. I did get most of the older food one (missing turkey leg) and I have the Halloween set from Oct. 2006 (those are two sets I like). I like the tiki and water parks set as well. My son started the older pirate series and my daughter the jungle theme set. My husband doesn't have any older pins.

LOL, and that is why pin trading is so complicated for newcomers (and why I just end to stick with the ones I like). I pointed the pins out to my daughter and I said which one do you like...she has no idea on value. First she said ice cream pin but then changed mind to Tiki :).

Last week she had Grand Floridian and Tiki Opens 1963 that she didn't have during the first week, so it will be interesting to see if she adds anything different this week.

Its a cool pin, I don't want it for its value (which would drop if it came out anyways). Unless really rare stuff starts getting re-released like high beta, that would be a bummer for those who have it.

Well, considering that only about 200-230 people get in to the event, and not all of them will pick the same pin, I don't see why the value has to drop that much.

I think 100 infernos were handed out recently, and I don't see the trade value dropping dramatically. Remember, new people are joining VMK every day and want this rare stuff, too. Plus, people have their accounts deleted, or accidentally sell rare items back (you know who you are!):eek:

Trade Value (price) = supply/demand
If the supply grows a little bit, yet the demand continues to increase, the item will not lose it's trade value!:D

Well, I was 154 Half an Hour before the event closed. Then I had to go to bed. :(

I would like to make it to ONE trading event! I've NEVER been in one.

For a change, this was the best I ever did at the pin trade event. I actually got in at #64!

I noticed that the Mickey-in-the-circle icon that is supposed to show on host events was not on the event at the beginning! I thought that host rooms were always supposed to be at the top of the list to make it easier to find!

We have now had the Churro pin and Tiki Room Opens, then the Grand Floridian, then the Grand Cali... what's next week? My guess is Everest 3/5 (Pawprint), though I am hoping for the ATIS Mighty Eye.

In my experience, the host icon often doesn't show up immediately when the room opens. I think someone somewhere has to remember to tick a box for it to appear.

And yes, it does seem like the pins are getting better every week. I'm seriously tempted to be sneaky and install shockwave on my work computer so I can make next week's event. :pirate:

My kid was in line the day Fin was trading grand floridian and tiki open and he got dc in the room!! he got very sad after that bc he got in line alone. (I wasn't home that day)

Actually, It's moving at a good clip this evening. It has moved almost 110 spots in the first hour! That is very fast for this event.:D

Arg.. I was going to get on line.. I wanted a churro pin. But I had guitar lessons starting 8:30 (When it started by me) Then I had dinner and stuffs, and there was no way I'd get in if I got on line an hour before it closed -(-_-)-

I agree (even though I would have not made it)... I was at an event and didn't get home till about 10!

Doesn't matter to me. I can't trade, because of lag. Lately I can't even look at my inventory.

I logged on at 8:31, got into the W-S trades at around 300, and was 18 from the end 3 hours later.
