Alienboy - Nice job :D

If this helps, there are 1024 megabytes in a gigabyte. Just a little tip ;)

Thanks....basic math;)
my computer teacher told me there was 1,000.... LOL
Rounding it to 1000 is just an easy way to get a ballpark estimate of it

Lol, I don't know these things, but wouldn't it be 3,160? I'm just thinking unit conversions in science.

Tera 10 to 12th power
Giga 9th power
Mega 6th power
Kilo 3rd power
Hecto 2nd power
Deka 1st power

Technically speaking with the prefixes, it should only be a 1 billion bytes, but I think computers use a binary system or something that makes it in powers of 2, even though 2^9 is 512...

So then 3.16 x 2^9? That's 1617.92.

This has turned into quite the thread ;)

And by you saying 512 in half a gig, that is pretty easy to do (1024/2)

I thought that one person was sayng there were 512MB in one but that didnt make sense and now I see they are saying in half a gig.

Xiaolin is correct about it. 3GB= 3072MB
