I'd say the pin owner did.....though they are rare, the quest pins are still not as rare as the sorcerer hats were.

Yeah, I wouldn't trade it if I were you. Soon enough, if the rarity index of the hat keeps going up that is, you'll easily be able to trade it for inferno.
