On WDW's Main Street, USA is filled with little fun things... for example, pick up the antique phone in the General Store on the right hand side of the street. When you do, you can hear a "party line" conversation going on!!
I got this fact from a different site....
Coolest Thing Ever (Even though it might not sound like it.):
Wait for Space Mountain to Break Down.
No. Really. You read correctly.
Here's why: When Space Mountain breaks down, it takes a good 45 minutes to an hour to start it back up again. Disney is extremely cautious when a ride breaks down, and will spend whatever time necessary to figure out the problem. On a high-profile ride like Space Mountain, they'll do whatever it takes to ensure ride safety...
Of course, there are only a couple of ways to know that it's broken down (One being that you're in line, the other being that you're attempting to queue.) Either way, I recommend leaving the line and talking (calmly) to the CM at the entrance to see if you can get a Fastpass for later (If you have one, hold on to it! They'll be good for the rest of the day.)
Now... go to the Tomorrowland Transit Authority/WEDWay/People Mover.
Why? Because the TTA goes through Space Mountain. And chances are, the lights in Space Mountain will be... you guessed it...on.
You can see EVERYTHING! The entire ride looks like steel spaghetti. You can also sometimes hear them alert the CMs operating on the ride. You'll get about 45-60 seconds of looking at Space Mountain with the lights on.
Just don't take any pictures. Your camera/pictures will be, most likely, subject to confiscation.
And you thought that you'd have to spend your time next door playing Galaga waiting for them to fix Space Mountain.
Will have more stuff soon! :)

I have to inform you of some corrections, the party line is gone from the market house. when the crystal shop moved in to this storefront they removed the phones... (why i don't know, their is a lot of room for a few more shops next to the store to expand into if needed and keep the phones...)
also, if you taken a photo or video from a safe and public on stage area, they cannot confiscate it.. its when you go out of your way to go around barriers... climb, or other to do it is when they will take it away.
EX. TTA breaks down and you take a photo of it broken down, or riding in space and the lights are on and taking a photo... sadly not many photos will even come out due to the TTAs speed.
Chele 05-26-2007, 08:55 AM Space Mountain in WDW with the lights on (not my picture) as seen from the TTA. I've been through many times while cars have been stuck on the track with people in them. However, my pictures never turn out because I can't turn the flash off. Flash photography is not permitted inside of Space Mountain. And, even if you try to take picture with a flash when the lights are on, there is a glass wall between the TTA and the open area of the que which reflects the flash and makes your picture just a flash of light reflecting on the glass.

This is a picture of the lifts for Space Mountain with the lights on (yes this one is my picture). Yes, the astronauts are upside down @_@ They are after, all in space. My angle in taking this picture from the TTA is looking up which makes it difficult to see that the lifts are indeed going up and not flat.

Facnyface 05-28-2007, 08:20 PM WDW doesn't like that you post photos of how a ride looks. But the state of Florida requires when they inspect that they inspect it with lights on.And thye take photos. As long as it's nothing secret like behind the scenes stuff of Space Mountain then usually WDW wont mind. Now universal studios orlando well let's not go there of all places you think would let you video tape they are very strongly inforceing that you dont and I know that rule is heavly applied on Revenge Of The Mummy (Many numerous times I had to display my media pass and they were pretty mad about it but they had to let it slide).

There is nothing "secret" in the pictures I posted. Both are pictures taken from the TTA with the lights on in Space Mountain. Similar pictures are all over the internet and in millions of peoples own photo albums in their homes.
If WDW wished to keep the inside of Space Mountain a "secret", they would also close the TTA when Space Mountain closed.
Oh and btw, I've also seen complete ride throughs from the TTA and on the left hand track of Space Mountain (front car) with the lights on as well as a complete ride through of Rock 'n Rollercoaster (front car) with the lights on.

I never was saying your photos contined anything. I was just saying about anythign that is secret in WDW they would not allow but something like that they dont really care since just about anyone can access it through the state.
PezDude 05-29-2007, 03:16 PM What does TTA Stand for?

Your picture? Of all the random google searches and I found yours? lol
PezDude 05-31-2007, 06:32 PM I read this is it true?
At the entrance to MuppetVision 3D, just as you enter the building, look for the "Security Office" on the right hand side. There, you will see a sign that says: "Back in 5 Minutes: Key Under Mat". If you look down at the mat you're standing on, you can lift it and actually find a key embedded in the carpet!!

futureimagineer1117 06-08-2007, 12:50 AM Recently, meaning Memorial Day Weekend, Space Mountain broke down and (thinking like i always do....) I insisted that my party go on the TTA, and all lights were off, as normal, and the ride was up and running, however, once we got back outside (it goes through several tunnels and such) the line (both stand-by and Fastpass) were not moving whatsoever, and the castmember appeared to be tellnig people the ride was broken down and would be fixed (hopefully) later that evening. Any explanation?
CapnOlaf 06-08-2007, 12:58 AM For the release of the Oscar-Winning* film "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest", three new characters were added to the classic "Pirates of the Caribbean" Ride. Jack Sparrow, Hector Barbossa, and the ghostly captain Davey Jones.
