VMK_Lion came into the room of a player who lost his stuff.
He muted the room and none of us could speak. So Lion was there talking to us with nobody respoding.. VERY nice tool VMK!

Whoah! The staff woke up from their how many months nap? WooHoo! I've always liked Lion. It's a good idea because it doesn't allow others to interfere with the chat between the two.

I know it's been used before.

I think fin did it in one of her games, I cant exactly remember.

I like this new tool, so now nobody can be talking while he is speaking, I think it is a good idea to make sure EVERYONE hears what the Staff has to say.

That's not exactly new. That happened to me last year during Christmas. LOL I was talking to my friends and the staff came in and said: Are you done talking yet? -- Because we were all doing faces like 0_0 -- So, she told us she was muting us (I tried talking, and couldn't) and then she explained something... and then she said we could speak again.

Yavn said he would be "revamping" the moderation system. Hopefully this will take care of some of the current issues.

Go VMK_Lion! (If only we could do that to, but then there will be people overdoing it.)

Anyway, good to know that VMK still has traces back to Sulake, so I'm not going crazy ;)

Habbo Hotel has a staff tool (We know from "Habbo Retros")
Their staff can mute a room, or a single individual
VMK is also basedoff of Sulake's work
VMK has a staff tool now
Putting it all together I would imagine that since Sulake designed both of the games' major concepts, VMK would have close to the same (if not the same) staff tool as Habbo

Yes, the ' mute room ' tool has been around for, its nothing new.

This is not a new staff tool, the staff have had the ability to stop chat for a while. The other night it was used on everyone in club33 because the HOST wanted to say the directions of the game we were going to play without his word bubbles being pushed up so fast you could not read them.

oh yeah, yesterday when i went to a club33 party we were about to do trivia and HOST_Lily and HOST_Sparky muted us it was so coo! and then the trivia questions poped up on the screen and were sent as a pm

This idea was on another VMK fansite also. I guess they have been using it for a while now, whoever thought of it first! :Tongue:

Ok so i am currently in a quest room with about 10 other people..

we are trying to figure out an answer but its not going over to well..

anyways...

all of the sudden.

it was completely silent

i couldn't say anything at ALL

i could request friends and walk around but NOBODY could talk..

it lasted for about two minutes and then all of the sudden we could talk again

i could type stuff in and press enter but nothing came out,,,

any ideas why this happened..

That's weird. . .perhaps someone in the room said something inapproapriate? I don't really know exactly. It could just be a bug, or a doing of the VMK staff. Did you report the problem? The staff could probably explain it better than I can.

I Know... I Did Read It Right. That is a weird type of lag, which most ppl crash on @_@...

^ But it also happened to everyone in the room. If you have lag or you freeze, You can't see anybody else's movements, or get friend requests, because you're frozen. They could still interact, just to talking..

Staff have options to do things to an entire room, such as silence and ban. They probably silenced the room on accident, or if someone brought up a controversial subject.

Most likely an accident. I prefer the old go in the room and yell "I CAN'T READ THAT FAST, PLEASE TYPE LESS" You know, with all the lag and super fast typing... Haha.

I'd like to see a staff control panel sometime :)

It is either one of two answers:

1. You were muted my VMK staff.
2. As AstroGoldStar posted, there is a type of lag where words freeze, because two people presses the "enter" key at the same time and the game is trying to read which one to show up first. This happens alot in pirates, if someone says something, right as the game is supposed to end, then it just sits there for a few seconds, while all the other words go up into " The Speech Bubble Sanctuary In The Sky." :)

This happened to me about a day ago. Me and my friend were talking about our school's orientation (I know her in real life) and we weren't able to speak for about 5 minutes. This was right after we recieved a warning from staff for revealing personal information, so maybe somebody else in the room said something inappropriate, so they muted all of you.

yes it has happened to me before that when someone else says something bad we get a warning and then we cannot talk

however none of us got an warning..

Anyways, I always liked VMK_Lion. Hes so sweet. I met him once in the pirate treasure room. Thats a pretty cool feature of people not being able to speak.
