DVDs and Music CDs released on Tuesdays for several reasons:

1) Sales Figures are released on Monday. 2) It doesn't interfere with weekend box office sales. 3) Consumers know when to look for new releases. 4) If a Tuesday release is selling well, there still is time to order more before the weekend. 5) Shipments of music usually begin to arrive in stores on Thursday. That gives the stores time to coordinate special midnight sales on Monday evening, as opposed to Sunday, which is usually a shorter work day.

This practice appears to have been followed for 20 years.

LOL Actually someone had told me a while ago but I had forgotten. When you mentioned it it drove me nuts so had to look it up again :) So, in reality, thank YOU for inspiring me to be "un-lazy". ;)

Yep. This is very true. I know this from working in a video store for 3 years. :D

What happens if you pre-ordered the Herbie DVD from amazon.com, then when the DVD actually ships, they change their minds and release the codes some other way?? I know I would be mad. :Tongue:
