Walt's Sketch

"It's a world of laughter and a world of tears..." Music blasted through hidden speakers of the It's a Small World ride. Christina smiled; it was her favorite ride in the Magic Kingdom. She looked over to see her little brother, Todd, who was laughing gleefully and pointing at various objects found in the ride's scenery. Christina chuckled, then gazed back over to the small people. One small person, who was dressed in a Hula Skirt, seemed to gaze right back at Christina. It was so insignifigant; Christina barely noticed it, so she then once again looked at Todd. He was still laughing, but his eyes were wide.
"Todd, something wrong?" Christina asked, patting him on the back.
"Yeah, yeah. Why are you thirteen year olds always so worried about us nine year olds?" Todd replied, obviously annoyed. He turned to look over at the scenery again, but the ride was over. Christina and Todd hopped off the ride and began to walk around the park.
"Hey, where are Mom and Dad supposed to meet us?" Christina asked, squeezing her brother's hand.
"Three-thirty, at the consession stand over there." Todd ponted to a small, pink consession stand with pictures of cotton candy on the side. A small, elderly man was standing in back of it, giving three small children a cup of cotton candy.
"Nice place to meet," Christina replied, licking her lips. "Hey, want to go on Splash Mountain?"
"Yes! You just read my mind!" Todd shouted back at her, smiling in delight. He ran off to the ride, guided only by screams and the splash that followed. Christina raced after him, and struggled to keep up. Todd was fast- so fast that he won a race with the fastest sixth-grader in the school.
When Christina finally caught up minutes later, Todd was standing in front of Splash Mountain, drinking a Coke. "What toook ya?" Todd asked with a grin on his face. Christina scowled in reply, then raced up to the line for Splash Mountain. Todd immeadiately followed, and after ten minutes, they were in a log, floating on water and laughing. Soon, Todd and Christina approached the hill, and they would be screaming and splashing in a matter of seconds. Todd smiled, Christina laughed.
"Ahhhhhhhiiiiiiiiieee!" Christina screamed. Then the two of them were suddenly jerked forward. The ride stopped- right at the top of the hill. She looked up at the security camera on top of the rock formations, and right above it, there was a note scratched in the rock.
It read, "Walt's Sketch".

"Todd, take a look at that," Christina commanded. Todd shifted his gaze to the note. He gasped.
"Who would do such a thing? Ruining the rides for everyone else!" Todd screamed. Suddenly, they were jerked backwards against the hard, metal seat, and they began to go downhill.
"No, no. How could anyone possibly get up this high and carve it into the rock? They can't climb out of the ride; the bars are too tight. They can't climb- they'd fall!" Christina replied, twirling her hair around her finger, ignoring the screams and her wet clothes. "I think that they stopped the ride for us to see it. Someone needs our help, and we need to figure out what's going on."
Todd nodded. He began to walk to the Information Center, and motioned for Christina to follow. She did, then their slow walk quickly turned into a run. They dodged people, benches, and trashcans, and finally came apon the Information Center. Todd began to talk to the woman at the desk. "We saw it. Walt's Sketch. We saw." The woman's eyes grew wide, and the motioned for them to come inside.
As the two of them walked inside the small building, they suddenly felt a rush of heat over them. Christina asked, "What is going on?"
The woman looked at the two of them, a frown forming on her face. "The carving isn't real. Every year, someone carves that into a ride. We called the police, but no evidence was found. They didn't even know what was used to carve the words." She paused, then spoke again. "No one can see it, except the security cameras in Walt's eyes. You know, the statue of him? We put cameras in there; no one ever guesses that we'd actually put cameras in his eyes. At first, we thought that this was a trick of the camera, like someone edited the photo. But when we found more pictures like this, we knew that it was real. You two are the only ones out of the whole park- maybe even the world - who can see this."
Christina and Todd let this sink in for a moment. Christina asked, "So... what do you want from us?"
The woman sighed. "Well.... we want you to save Disney."

Todd sat on the bench, wide eyed. "S-s-save Disney? How are we supposed to do that!? We are the only ones who can see this thing, besides the cameras in Walt's eyes. We can't do this; we're just kids!" Todd screamed. His body was violently jerked upward into the air. He punched the air, them suddenly a sharp pain shot through his body like a rocket. He dropped down on the bench, gasping for breath, then he brushed himself off.
"Go. Now! Get out of here! Go to.... my ride!" Christina yelled, and Todd took off to It's a Small World. Christina followed, wishing that she was fast enough to take a lead. They were finally there; but without warning, Todd jumped into the water behind a boat. Christina jumped in after him, and they swam closely behind the unsuspecting boat passengers.
"Someone was trying to hurt me, Christina. Someone who we can't even see." Todd gasped. The music of the ride was ringing in is ears, and his eyes began to close. Christina slapped him across the face, then apologized.
"Sorry, Todd. We need to stay awake." Christina sighed. She didn't want to save Disney; she wanted to enjoy it. But, they had to start somewhere, and this is where they were going to- no matter what Todd thinks. Just as Christina was thinking about whatt o do next, she saw something silver in the Hula Girl's mouth. She looked at Todd, who was struggling to stay awake. She motioned for him to follow her, and they descretely climbed out of the water and on to the scenery platform.
"Wha-" Todd began, but Christina shushed him before he could finish. She pointed to the silver object in the Hula Girl's mouth, then Todd understood. The two of them ducked behind a fake bush, and then Christina reached into the mouth and attempted to grab the object. Right as she brushed her index finger aganst it, the mouth clamped shut- tightly. She struggled to pull her hand out, but she couldn't. She was sure that her hand was turning blue.
"Christina, this is no time to fool around!" Todd whispered.
Christina yelped, "I- I'm not! This thing is trying to destroy me!"

Todd punched as hard as he could. He believed that one punch could take away his fear, his pain, and his troubles. His hand flew through the cold, wet air, and struck a hard metal object. Pain surged throughout his entire body; he groaned, and fell down behind the bush. Christina sighed in relief as the mouth opened, and she grabbed the metal object with her red, throbbing hand. Sparks flew out from the Hula Girl's body, and finally, she collapsed.
"Thank you, thank you, Todd!" Chrsitina screamed as she hugged him.
"N- n- n- no problem." Todd sniffed. His hand was red with pain, and he knew that he would have to think of a pretty good excuse to say to his parents... he waved his hand, in attempt to forget about his parents. They had to help Disney. "So, what's on the thingy?"
Christina looked at the object, and smiled. "It's a ring," Christina said, putting the ring on her finger. "I bet someone threw it into the girl's mouth, and it got stuck there."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah," she replied, studying the ring. It was beautiful- it was lovely. But then Christina saw something on the ring. She studied it closer, and she saw two words. The ring had, Save me embedded into it. "Todd," Christina whispered. "Todd, look at the ring!"
Todd glanced at the ring and sighed. "Why do we, small kids, have to figure this out?"
"Because," Christina began, "we are the only ones who can do it."

I know., 6th graders are not nine. I was saying that Todd, who is nine, was so fast, that he beat a sixth grader in a race. It doesn't mean that Christina is in 6th, she's in seventh. I was just saying that Todd beat a 6th grader ina race, thats all.
