View Full Version : Rock N Rollercoaster
thesimpson90 05-08-2007, 01:56 AM When I go to Walt Disney World resort i want to ride Rock N Rollercoaster, but im scared to go on it. I love some roller coasters that dont have huge drops and im not afraid to go upside down just negative g forces and a lot of g forces bother me. I really want to go on it because Aerosmith is one of my favorite bands, but i dont want to get sick. Can anyone tell me if they think ill be able to go on it or tell me what the rides like?
theastroA 05-08-2007, 03:38 AM I've gone on it 20 times in a row. Trust me, you won't get sick. Even if you ate a bag of popcorn before you go on (like I did).
April 05-08-2007, 12:35 PM I went on it 4 times in one day, but only twice in a row. It was busy that day, and we had to get fastpasses.
I also went back the next day to celebrate my birthday and went on three times.
I couldn't even feel the G-Forces really, maybe just a bit when the launch happens you get pushed back in your seat a bit.
It's really nothing, and you'll never know if you'll like it if you don't try. If you get scared or something, remember it's only a 1-2 minute ride.
You can't even really tell you're upside down, in my opinion. It was my first upside down coaster, and it was in the dark. :P
If you get motion sickness then don't go on it. o_o I've never gotten sick on any ride before, but I guess you know yourself best to be the judge of what you can and can't handle.
Speed_Bolt 05-08-2007, 12:37 PM The upside downs go so quick. Its nothing
Give it a try
Baconbits 05-08-2007, 01:33 PM That was my first roller coaster : ) It's in the dark so don't worry about loops or anything . . . its fine. Try it ! you'll love it!
CaptianNemo 05-08-2007, 01:41 PM It is a great ride, It is a lot of fun!! When you return I promise you, you will post here telling us how much you liked it.
Nemo
Kitri 05-08-2007, 01:48 PM The only time that you'll ever feel th G force is when you take off in the very begining! Trust me I was tricked to go on it when I was 7. I hated it. Now, I go back on it, and I TOTALLY LOVE IT!!!
TravisSch 05-08-2007, 01:59 PM I love this ride! Any ride which is in the dark and goes really fast is a ride I love! Believe me, try out the ride. I also agree with Nemo, you'll be coming back here and telling us you loved it. :)
Neoteny 05-08-2007, 02:11 PM It's a fun ride. Give it a try! If you don't like it, well, wait a year or two and try it again. But I'm guessing you'll like it!
rollercoasterfan 05-08-2007, 08:36 PM It's a great ride! Definitly go on it, if you don't get motion sickness.
EmmieGirl 05-08-2007, 08:48 PM Its isnt that scairy :) its dark so you cant see where the drops and hoops are really so id say try it!!
crazycrazyfrog 05-08-2007, 08:51 PM Yes, do ride it, not that I have, but I have heard they are closing down the Rock N Rollercoaster rides*. So, I would ride it.
*Information is not Confirmed. I have only heard rumors.
Marysol 05-20-2007, 06:23 PM Ride itt!!
its amazing.
its quick, just the launch is a bit startling.
GTO_Girl 05-31-2007, 02:23 AM Im scared to go on it too. But I read up about it and i watched videos people took of it and I'll probably go on it next year when i go to WDW :-) It Looks Like alot of fun.
GoodPolarGirl 06-09-2007, 08:38 PM I agree, the ride is great for i have been on it a few times. The G forces really are not that bad. If you are still scared, just close your eyes. And, you may want to wear ear plugs bc the music there is pretty loud. But, i love that ride. You should og on the internet and do research about the ride and stuff. IT will seem scary. But when you get off the ride, you figure out t isn't that scary and you will want to ride it a bunch more times. I did that a few years ago(when i was little)when i was scared to ride the haunted mansion. I did research about it and stuff so i wouldn't be surprised if there was going to be something really scary there.
Sushi 06-10-2007, 01:08 AM You won't get sick on it, trust me. It's a really cool ride but it's over pretty fast.

rollercoastrfrk..mike 06-10-2007, 04:19 AM i'd ride it all day if i could :)
BlueStarburst 06-10-2007, 04:26 AM Personally it usually seems like the ride is over before you know it. However, I love the ride, and it is too dark to actually see any drops or "scary" sections. Overall it is a thrilling ride. As far as the "g-forces" you are worried about, you mostly just feel a slight pressure during the ride as if you do on any fast (ok, I suppose extremely fast is better put) moving vehicle, so nothing sacry or painful there. Have fun :)

The worst part is the launch shotting into the track and get this I never rode nor tested it but I have seen it being tested. When you have to test it (for cast members) like when it brakes down. You have to strap a computer to your leg just for it to stay on.
Neoteny 06-10-2007, 02:35 PM It's less scary than Mission: Space.
Marysol 06-10-2007, 03:12 PM Irs great, Its quick and you dont even feel likes your going upside down. Its over in 3 seconds.
cookiefairy 06-10-2007, 11:57 PM What are G forces?
Facnyface 06-11-2007, 12:06 AM It's less scary than Mission: Space.
Mission:Space isn't scary, the only thing scary about it is it's the ride in WDW that well put it this way had more problems than any other ride in wdw.
What are G forces?
It's kinda of hard to explain but if you have too many G-Forces you could die. But there is no roller coaster in the US that is like that it's basicly agaisnt the law to make them that strong.
VMKFREAK 06-11-2007, 12:09 AM i loved it there is no big drops it is just the 60mph launch and all the loops and barrlerools and corkescrews
Facnyface 06-11-2007, 01:16 AM i loved it there is no big drops it is just the 60mph launch and all the loops and barrlerools and corkescrews
Yea, put it this way if you ave ever saw a movie or even rode on The Incredible Hulk it's very similar to it.
crazycrazyfrog 06-11-2007, 01:29 AM Can somebody give me an overview on Space Mountain, also? I'm a bit nervous on riding it. I enjoyed the Mission: Space Less Intense at Epcot, if it would help, as many people are comparing to it. :-p

Well you can fit 6 people in a car, 1 in a row then 1 then 1 then another car ocnnects then 1 then 1 then 1 and it's kinda loud it's pitch black and it has sudden drops and trurns and stuff I like it.
CapnOlaf 06-11-2007, 01:54 AM Trust me, It's not as bad as you think it is, I have been on the ride maybe thirty-five times.
Facnyface 06-11-2007, 03:22 AM Trust me, It's not as bad as you think it is, I have been on the ride maybe thirty-five times.
Same here and I always think im going to loose my head.
thesimpson90 06-26-2007, 11:19 PM ok just got back from walt disney world (im very sad) and i rode Rock N roller coaster and it was amazing! The launch was the worst part probley because i was caught off guard since the little count down never said 1 it went 3...2... and then you were launched, but i definatly wanted to ride again even though i couldnt. Thanks everyone that gave me advice!
Miss MeowsALot 06-26-2007, 11:27 PM My mom pulled me on that ride crying. I didn't want to ride. But I loved it in the end. :) I'm glad you had fun on the ride.
Madthing 07-10-2007, 08:27 PM The worst part of launched rides for me is waiting in the train and the countdown. I went on a smaller version of Kingda Ka in the UK called Stealth just after eating and I wasn't sick at all. Just a bit scared because it broke down when we about to get on...
DisneyHottie 07-10-2007, 08:34 PM promise you its nothing. if you ever been on the hulk or dueling dragons you can do the rockin roller coaster and een if you havent done those you can still do it the only bad thing is when it takes off other than that its all good if you cant take it just close your eyes the whole time and it doesnt even feel like your going upside down or anything.
VWpunchbuggie 07-10-2007, 08:35 PM You will love the ride if you go on it! Trust me! And if you are really afraid of the upside down parts close your eyes! I did that the first time I rode it and didn't even know it was happening! =)
Cmkrebs 07-10-2007, 09:30 PM there is one drop and thats it. the best part is the take off with aerosmith blasting in your ears and the count down thats one of my favorite part. when u go make sure u go in the moring (be there when the park opens)and get fastpasses for rock and roll then go over to tower then it will be time to ride! as they say inside of rock and roll! rock on!:music-smi
DizCaptain 07-10-2007, 10:43 PM Well the initial take off is really back blasting which means you are slammed against your seat. If you are really short your head might bump and hit the sides of the overhead restraint. Also, the one drop is on takeoff right after it and it is small and barely noticeable. There are around four or five inversions on it and g-forced alot.
AceSnowboardChick 07-10-2007, 10:52 PM I've been on that like a million times.
It's awesome.
You won't get sick.
My mom gets sick on coasters usually so she doesn't ride them, but she rode it and she was fine.
Eviie 07-12-2007, 06:46 AM Their is not one person that i know who has rode the ride and didn't like it. I say go for it! I went on it 7 times in a day. 5 in a row, and 2 seperately. The only thing to tell you is that make sure your head is put back because if your head is forward it will push it back for you! lol, it happened to me and my neck hurt. But the whole entire ride i sounded like an idiot screaming 'Wooooooot! This is the best ride ever' And i sang some songs. Yeah i'm pretty weird that way, rofl xD But yes i will tell you that is my favorite ride in Disney next to Expedition Everest of course ;) Let's just say the only reason i even go to MGM is because of Rock'n rollercoaster!
PrincessSofia 07-12-2007, 07:16 AM I'm, happy you had lots of fun! :)
Cheery_Gurlie 07-12-2007, 03:31 PM When i went to WDW in early June, RNRC was only open for about 1day, they had major technical difficulties!! I was too scared to go on it..LOL
I's weird like that
Schmoofy 07-12-2007, 03:55 PM http://www.rcdb.com/id560.htm
It's a Vekoma coaster, with shoulder restraints. Yes it will beat your head back and forth, it's done it to me too many times.
It contains two corkscrews, right when you enter the "show" building, and a roll over near the end of the ride. These are, in my opinion, the smoothest parts of the ride.
As I have said before, it's very rough and will bang your head off of the restraints a bit, if not a lot.
The G-forces shouldn't get to you on this coaster, though. Just remain cool and keep your head back. ;)

Hi,
Well if G forces bother you I would not recommend it. Just wait another year/trip. There are a few in this. Nothing extreme but a few.
Captain Nemo
BellHop 07-13-2007, 04:10 AM It's very fun. The only time I lose my stomach is the take off, but that is the best part. The upside down loops, and corkscrews don't bother me. I can't even tell when we're upside down half the time. Plus it's not dark like space mountain, there are neon signs everywhere. :)
