How do people get their room all the way to the top of the most popular list? My room has never been anywhere near the list!! :confused:

Put the word 'prizes' as well as 'prize' in your room and they will come lol.Sometimes it is just hard to get ppl to come in, because you aren't on high on the list. Get some friends to come into your room and make sure you have a bunch of ppl on your friends list :)

My friends list is always full or near full capacity and getting five request from three people every hour to "come join me now" makes me see red. I won't say anything, of course, but my goodness, it drives me insane. I don't mind an occasional "do me a favour and visit, please," but don't get carried away.

I usually find that once two or three people enter, I will suddenly have another 5 or so show up. Easier when there are fewer rooms around (shortly after opening).

As for your first comment, I call this the "critical mass" effect. :) If you are in a room by yourself, I don't think it is listed in the "Popular Rooms List" (that would just be too easy!). Once a second person arrives, I think your room appears in the Popular Rooms list with a single Mickey head (so it is down at the bottom). Then, as people start trickling in, you move up the list rather quickly until you hit that "critical mass" phase where you're one of the top ten rooms or so and everyone wants to take a peak. Of course, once they get there, the key to staying popular is to have something fun for people to do in your room. ;)

As prisoner also said, I do find that it helps to have a long list of friends...rather than going to the popular rooms list (unless I'm giving a "tour"!), I usually just hop around to where my friends are and see what's going on.

when i click ont "friends rooms" nothing comes up. I have a lot of friends on my list but it doesn't list their rooms. do they have to be in their own room for it to appear on the list? also, the search box has never worked for me. do you type in the name of friend or their room? i have a hard time keeping room names straight. lol

Yes they need to be in their room for it to show up on the friend's room list.
Type in the name of your friend for a search.

The Trickle Effect, plus the magic words "prizes" and "games" always gets people in my rooms! Plus if you decide to hold a closing party in your room and you have lots of VMK friends you're definately going to be very close to the top of the list! (KrazyChik knows all about this...)
