NOTE: All of the names I use here are completely made up by me. If your VMK name is the same it’s purely by coincidence. I’m also just going to use Mia’s name in the dialogue instead of her screen name to avoid confusion. Enjoy!

All it took was a click.

Aiming her mouse at the ‘log-out’ button on the screen, Mia took one last glance over the Disney World information page, at first her eyes briefly scanning over the VMK advertisement. Wait. Her eyes shot back to the ad, quickly moving her mouse to it and exiting out of the Disney site with a swift click on the words ‘VMK.’ What she saw seconds later amazed her. A bright green page with two avatars talking to each other. After reading more about this game, VMK. She had, like any good player, read over all the values and information. It hadn’t taken long for her to decide that she was going to play this game. Mia went through the joining process, quickly decking her avatar in jeans and a Mickey shirt. But then she got to the name section, and she paused for a moment. It took a few minutes before she got an idea. She punched in ‘RedRoses’ then entered the kingdom.

Mia: Hi everyone! I’m new here!
Bookworm: Hi. :) Welcome to VMK.
Mia: Well thanks! Is this the only place here?
Bookworm: -laughs- No, VMK is huge. Want a tour?
Mia: Really? How do I get to the other worlds?
Bookworm: Just click that little button on the toolbar down below. Do you need a tour?
Mia: Okay thanks! No thanks, though. I think I can find my own way around.
Bookworm: Okay. In case you need anything, want to be friends?
Mia: Sure! :)
Bookworm: Accept my request please.
Mia: Uh what do you mean?
Bookworm: Just click the letter button below.

Mia started exploring VMK, going to every land there was to see. While visiting Fantasyland in the Sky, however, she saw someone sporting a fancy hat that looked like stitch. Not only that, they were wearing an outfit that looked like Jack Sparrow’s clothes. Mia walked up to the person, in awe.

Mia: Hi, there. :) I was wondering how you got those cool clothes.
Piratee: Trade.
Mia: What’s that?
Piratee: You trade your own items for another person’s items.
Mia: Wow, I had better get some things to trade. I wish I had those clothes.
Piratee: Are you asking for free?
Mia: Uh, I don’t think so. –confused-
Piratee: Okay, I see that you’re a guest. Most guests aren’t like you. Want to be friends.
Mia: Sure!
Mia accepted Piratee on her list, did some more exploring and logged off for the night. The next morning she got on VMK right when it opened, quickly checking her friends list to see if her two friends were on. Bookworm wasn’t there, but Piratee was. Mia quickly went to the room that her new-found friend was in, something called Rare Beta Trade Room.

Mia: Hi Piratee!
Piratee: Oh, hey RedRoses. Hold on a minute.
Mia: Ok

Mia realized that her name was no longer guest, but RedRoses. A red T popped up over Piratee’s head and Mia started to wonder what it was. Then a blue window flashed in the middle of the screen, stating that someone wanted to trade with her. She hesitantly accepted.

Guest: hi
Mia: Hello
Guest: do u have free to give me
Mia: No, if you mean you want free stuff.
Guest: u mean. im reporting.

The trade was over, and Mia was worried. Even she, a new player, knew what reporting was.

Mia: Piratee someone is reporting me!
Piratee: For what?!?!
Mia: For not giving them free stuff!
Piratee: LOL Ignore that person, they just want to scare you. Most likely they will be the on getting in trouble for false reports.
Mia: Oh ok. Lol
Piratee: I’m done here, you want to go to the Blue Bayou? Some of my friends are meeting there.
Mia: Sure :)

Piratee lead Mia to the Blue Bayou, where he was welcomed by cheerful hellos from people dresses in clothes as nice as the ones he wore. Mia was ignored until…

Piratee: Hey, guys. This is my new friend Red.
CL_Sporti: Hi RedRoses.
Splash!: Oh hello.
OPumpkin: Hey.

Piratee and Mia both took a seat and they all began to converse, Mia mostly left out except for the few times that Piratee tried to direct the conversation to her. But the other three weren’t interested in the least about her, and every time Piratee tried to talk to her the would interrupt by saying something funny. Boy, making friends on VMK was kind of hard, especially with people like Piratee and his friends. It was sort of like being the new kid arriving at school right after winter break. Everyone already had their friends picked out and didn’t really need more, but it was always possible to get into that friendship circle. She just wasn’t sure how to do that with Piratee’s friends.

Troubles in VMK
Chapter 2

It was her third day being on VMK, and finally Mia was getting the hang of things. The night before she had stayed up until closing playing pirates until finally she was able to play level three. She had even gotten a few compliments from some older players, saying that she was pretty good at Pirates for someone so new. But now she was trying to master Castle Fireworks, and found to her dismay, that this game was more challenging than Pirates had been to her. She had just finished a game of Fireworks when she heard a train whistle and the link to her friend’s list started flashing. Hesitantly she clicked on it and a message popped up from Bookworm.

Message: Hey, you got your VMK title. :) I’ll title you Red from now on. So do you need any help?

Mia was delighted. This was her first message and it was a nice one from Bookworm. Not only that, but he hadn’t been on at all yesterday and she was glad to see him. Maybe his friends wouldn’t be quite as… well, maybe they wouldn’t be like Piratee’s. Speaking of Piratee, he had gone to hang out with his other friends after they finished at the Blue Bayou. Mia quickly typed in a response to Bookworm.

Message: Red sounds good! I’m getting the hand of things, but one thing has been bothering me. How do I get all of the furniture that everyone has in those trade rooms?

Deciding to spare Bookworm of typing in another message, she returned to her friends list and entered the same room that he was in. Main Street, one of her favorite places to go in VMK.

Mia: Hey Bookworm
Bookworm: Oh hi Red. Some of the furniture you can buy, but the rare stuff you get from trade. If you want to get a retired item start buying stuff from the shops and when there is a quest trade your stuff that you bought for the quest prizes.
Mia: Lol thanks.
Bookworm: No problem. :) And you don’t have to title me Bookworm, just call me Book.
Mia: Hehe okay.

Bookworm and Mia chatted for a long time about VMK, Book giving her tips on how to be successful at the game and even on how to make friends here. Eventually she broke down and told him about Piratee and his friends.

Bookworm: Piratee, I think I’ve seen him before and I definitely have heard of CL_Sporti. A lot of the richer people in VMK don’t care about any of the newer players and won’t even think of becoming their friends. I’m that way too sometimes, but Piratee’s friends could have at least tried to talk to you..
Mia: I know. I mean, there are a lot of people that I wouldn’t get along well with on VMK but they should have known that I’m not like some new players when they saw me hanging out with their friend.
Bookworm: I agree.

Trying to forget Mia’s troubles, the two resorted to playing pirates together until Bookworm had to go. Mia continued to play, her mind set on buying all of the items she could get. She only stopped when she had a total of a whopping thirty-thousand credits. Her first stop was the Emporium, and then slowly made her way through all of the shops in VMK. By the time she was done she had three hundred credits left. By then Piratee was on…

Mia: Hi Piratee.
Piratee: Hello Red, what’s up?
Mia: Not much, I just went around and bought stuff for the first time.
Piratee: Lol that’s fun.
Mia: What’s a Leader? I hear people talking about them and then some people have CL in front of their names like your friend.
Piratee: Oh, those are community leaders. They aren’t staff but they’re regular VMK players chosen to help remind people of the values and stuff. You can ask them questions.
Mia: Wow I want to be on!
Piratee: You have to have played VMK for a long time and you have to apply when they are accepting leaders.
Mia. Oh..
Piratee: Cheer up, I’m sure you’ll have your chance when you have played a little more. Just don’t get banned.

Mia decided to forgive Piratee for his friend’s behavior and they spent a lot of the day together. Occasionally they would go do their own thing, and it was then that Mia made a new friend.

SpottyDog: Hi, are you new?
Mia: Kind of.
SpottyDog: Well welcome to VMK then. :) I’m Spots.
Mia: Lol nice to meet you. I’m Red.
SpottyDog: I played Pirates with you earlier and you were really good. Want to be friends?
Mia: Okay, thanks.

Spots wasn’t as rich looking as Piratee and Bookworm. She wore cowboy pants, cowboy boots, and a blue Mickey shirt. Her hair was like Mia’s short and straight, but while Mia’s was dark brown Spots’s hair was light brown, almost blonde. They hit it off right away, in fact Mia got along better with Spots than she did with Book and Piratee, not to say that those two weren’t great friends, though. Spots and Mia spent the whole day together until Mia had to get off.

The next day was Monday and Mia was very impatient during the school day. She couldn’t wait until the last bell rang, but it seemed like that moment would never come. The day went by slowly, and at times she found herself just drifting off to think about VMK. But at last, that bell did ring and at last Mia was opening the door to her home. When she logged onto VMK she was happy to see that both Book and Spots were on. She quickly entered the same room Spots was in.

Mia: Spots!
SpottyDog: Red! Hiya!
Mia: Today went by so slow, I couldn’t wait to get on VMK.
SpottyDog: Same here!

Just then Bookworm entered the room.

Bookworm: Hey Red
Mia: Book, hi! Meet my good friend Spots. :)
Bookworm: SpottyDog.. >_<
SpottyDog: Bookworm.. -_-
Mia: What’s wrong?

This is really good! I bet it's pretty hard to write stories about a game. And about the end of Ch. 2, ooo cliffhanger, don't keep us in suspense!
