Ok, this is a story I have been working on for a couple weeks now, its not that great, but the idea just kind of popped in my head. The title will make more sense once the other chapters are up.
Chapter one
“Beep, Beep” . A long slender hand came from under the covers and hit the snooze button on the alarm clock on the nightstand. With a loud sigh, Kayla pulled the covers back and put on her red heart slippers. She walked drowsily to the kitchen and went in the fridge for the milk. She grabbed the carton and went to the cupboard. She snatched up her cereal and a bowl and went to the breakfast table. While passing by she quick looked in her Mom’s room. Still not up yet. She sat down to another lonely meal and thought about what she was going to wear to school that day. While she was thinking she poured the cereal in the bowl, and then the milk. She grabbed a spoon on the counter and dug in. When she was finished she cleaned out her dishes and went to wake her mom up.
Mom, wake up, it’s almost time to leave, Kayla said.
I’ll be up I’m a minute or so. Just leave me alone for now please.
Kayla walked back to her room in silence and gazed out the tiny window in her room, that made her feel like she was sleeping in a cellar. A couple minutes passed when she heard her mom scream KAYLA get your butt out here this minute! Kayla got up and quickly ran to where she heard her mom call and nearly toppled over her as she skidded to a stop. Kayla Marie Davis why aren’t you dressed yet?
Sorry mom. I was kind of daydreaming.
Sweetie, you need to get your head out of the clouds and start concentrating more. You don’t pay attention to me and you hardly pay attention in school.
But Mom! Even loon at my report card look at my 4.o average..
Your very smart, but your teachers say, every time they look at you, your always staring out the window and not paying attention. It amazes me at how you get such good grades when you don’t even know what they are teaching.
But mom! I do pa-
No I don’t want to hear your excuses just go get ready. Hurry up or your going to be late.
Kayla rushed to her bedroom fighting back tears. She never likes when people see her emotional.
She quickly went to her drawer and pulled out her favorite pair of faded blue jeans and her black hoodie. On her way to the bathroom she grabbed a green shirt off her bed that read “Be Original”. When she got to the bathroom she closed the door behind her and got dressed. She quickly brushed away all signs of breakfast from her teeth, and untangled the knots in her hair. She looked in the mirror and sarcastically said, wow, your sooo pretty. She rolled her eyes, picked up her school bag and headed out the door to her mom’s car. She got in and turned on the radio.
Not today Kayla, her mom said as she turned off the radio. Kayla sighed and stuck her hand in her bag and pulled out a book. Something to do so her mom couldn’t judge her out loud. Whenever Kayla read she lost track of time, so it surprised her when they arrived at the school in what it seemed, like just a couple short minutes. Bye mom Kayla said and waved. Her mom didn’t say anything and just drove away. Its just one of those days Kayla said, and walked in the school building.
