A beta key is the " device " that gives you access to the pirates online game. Which lets you test the game before it opens to public and such.

how to you get it?

You have to join earlier, which I think beta keys can't be received anymore because it is too late.

:o I have been testing that game for the past 6 months. But welcome aboard the crew mate. Must have been opened to the public testers. Hmm welcome aboard though.

Got mine, too! Here's a bit of advice: Though it may cause more lag, it helps to fight with other players. Especially for the task where you need to defeat a guard.

Also, did your computer slow down itself (after installing the game) even when not playing the game?
Because mine did... But, I think it was because I installed it several times and uninstalled it several times in the same half-hour.

Not really, no. Sometimes other windows would slow down when the game was running, but not when it's off.

Is anyone else getting the message " your game just closed abnormally"?

I log in and get to the page with the pier and ship. Click on create a pirate then get an error.

It happened to me. A friend and I were on his ship and the game kept closing on me.

When you go to log in it says their next testing is tomorrow till 3 pm! :)

I got well it was like 3 weeks ago (or something like that) while I was in England. So I couldn't use it so now it expired and now I look like this :(

If you're trying to make a new account using your VMK information, you're already using it. It's all tied into the Disney.com site. Choose "log in" and log in with your VMK info and boom there ya go. You're already registered.


I'm having a problem with lag being so bad that I can't even get out of the prison door. When I exit it, The lag is so bad that the music hangs up, I can't toggle between programs, and it eventually causes a runtime error and crashes.

Come to find out they require a 2GHz processor. Mine is 1.73GHz in a laptop...so I can't even use the key I got. :( (No, it's not up for use, it's already tied to my account now that I registered and made a player)...

Anybody got any ideas? I sent in a complaint to them-ToonTown only requires 233 MHz (yes, mega, not giga) to play and VMK requires 1.5GHz. I'm a bit upset with the jump. This computer is 1 1/2 years old and I'm NOT buying a new one just so I can play this game...as much as my heart wants to. :(

I got mine too. Wow, it takes a long time to load.. After the first 100% I thought it was over.. but it goes to phase 2, 3, 4.. When will it end!?

I have not been able to play around with it. The program says I have unlimited access. However When I click on any link. I get the Microsoft Error message. Stating that POC encounted an error and must shut down

I have a key...at first the game wouldn't initialize. My husb. played around with it and he got to the part where it tries to connect to server (this was Thursday night). He couldn't get it to connect to server (he figured server was down). I was going to try later...

Whenever I get to the part where the screen enlarges and says "Initializing", I get a pop-up saying that the game messed up.

Sad.Lol, I'm still running on a 256 MB of RAM! xD. No worries, I'll probably upgrade or wait until this summer when it's supposed to get smoother. Too bad for you though...it's not like you can just buy a new processor, like you can with RAM. Yeah, that stinks. There's nothing you can really do except buy a new or refurbished or used computer.

When you get your beta key, they will send you the link, to enter your key #.

I got mine today, i was thinking it was something else till it explained how it would have bad graphics and bugs, then it gave me one :D
