OOC:This is a random story that kinda popped into my head as I got REEEALLLYY bored. Please tell me if it's good.

Xavier walked cautiously through the courtyard of the old mansion, keeping his sword tight in his hand. He had left the Western Shadow Kingdom Castle to go see a case about some odd sightings from a creature living in McMeyer Mansion, the once lively home of the McMeyer couple, two rich folk that were the kindest people one could know. The mansion consisted of many large and well furnished rooms, for instance, the courtyard in which Xavier stood once held the grand dances and parties. It held in the center, a magnificent fountain with an outer area made of marble and was patterned with sapphire and diamonds. The court held rich, cream colored tiles with a beautiful flower mosaic which laid on the floorbed of the fountain. The court musicians would play fine classical music while Mistress McMeyer's servants would walk around tending to the guests every needs. Now, since the couple had died, all that was left was nothing but a dull, torn up area. The outdoor window curtains were all scratched up, the flowers were withered, and the fountain had cracks and dents in it, as well as a dirty, shallow pool of water with floating leaves inside.
A faint groan came to Xavier's ears as he walked near an old bush next to a statue of a white dragon. He carefully took a stance with his sword and moved closer to where he heard the sound. He brought up Princess Jasminn's advice as he got closer. "Xavier, this creature's description makes it sound very dangerous, please be careful my dear friend, and make sure you give it your all! You are a knight of Shadow Kingdom, Xavier Stanshwek, show your power!" Xavier whispered as he started to go around the bush. "I promise I'll be careful..and I promise I'll be brave.." He swiftly ran around the bush, but only to find a pile of debris. He sighed impatiently and continued to look around the area. Shuffling noises were coming from a direction, though, Xavier could not tell which. A drop of sweat rolled down his cheek, he started to remember the serious look in his wizard friend's eyes.

"Xavier, come I must show you something," The old wizard led Xavier into a dark room, lit with only a glowing orb. The room was small and simple, filled with only things that satisfied the wizard. The walls of the room were covered in bricks, long green vines rushed up the walls and the sounds varied from a crackling fire to a boiling pot of water, to cawing crows and squeaking mice, to the pitter patter of the small song birds rushing across the tin roof. A broom lay in the corner next to a shallow pail of water, the whole area shadowed from the lack of light, a small bookshelf crammed to the left side of the room and a few spell books here and there along with papers scattered across the floor and at last the old oak desk, carved with patterns of vines running up and down the legs of the desk. Xavier quietly walked around the room as the wizard searched the bookshelf. "Ah-hah! Xavier my dear boy, come, Fansatias has found what he was looking for!" Fansatias sat Xavier down at a chair near his desk, sat at his desk, and pulled up a large and tattered book. "Now, you're being sent to fight a mysterious creature eh?" Fansatias smiled at Xavier's nod and began to flip through the book. He ran through the book quickly with his fingers. "By the description our Princess gives, the creature you're after is...this!"
He opened the page to a terrible creature, it was like a large skinless dog with no tail. It had the face of a wolf and the body of a man. It's appearance gave Xavier the chills. "Fan, what is that?" Disgust filled his voice as he pointer to the picture, shivering and wondering about this thing. "This, Xavier, is a Chupacak, related to the werewolf but twice as disturbing and more capable of injuring one." Fansatias cleared his throat and took a quick drink of water. "Almost every part of its body is capable of bringing harm to one, why, with those razor sharp teeth and terrible claws, I think you should be honored that Princess Jasminn is sending you to go against such! It is an honor to be told to fight something this vicious! Xavier, you may be indeed considered a powerful knight if you pull through this!"

Xavier was stopped in his thought by a faint growl coming from somewhere above. He again stood and shook in fear, knowing that the next moment of his life would be either in the claws or jaws of the Chupacak. "SCREAAAA!!!" The Chupacak jumped down and landed on Xavier's back, digging its sharp claws into his back. "Augh!"
