I have been working on a story called "Bella" for quite a while. So far I have written 15 chapters and I'm still working on it. Hope you enjoy my story. ;)

Bella

My name is Bella Northway. A week ago my mother and father died of a car crash. It was oh so very sudden. My “Uncle”, Flad is now my guardian and now I have to move to Ohio.
It was a warm sunny Friday in California and it was the day I had to take a 9:00 a.m. flight. I packed everything that was ever so dear to me. My mother’s white pearl necklace and a photograph of my mother and father. In the photograph, my mother was wearing a red sweater with a denim skirt. Her black hair was pulled back into a pony tail showing her silver eyes. My father who was on the right had a black suit on, with a black tie and his sleek blonde hair pulled back. I was in the middle and I was seven at the time. I had my faded blonde hair down covering half of my pale face. You could only see one of my silver eyes. I had a sleek baby blue dress, with my arms crossed. At the time, my parents and I just had a fight about saying I wish I could run away. Now I wish I never said that. Looking at my full suitcase, I realized how I never met my so called “Uncle” Flad. Heading out the door, I called a yellow cab. Once a cab pulled up, I placed my suitcase in the trunk and entered the cab. “Where to?” asked the driver. “Saint Johns Airport” I replied with a grin. The driver then stepped on the gas and turned on to Eves Street. I took my last glance at the house I lived in and had joyous memories, for fourteen years. It felt strange leaving your home and entering a new life. I just hope my “Uncle” will be please to see me.
The cab stop and I looked at the price, twenty-four dollars and seven cents. I handed the kind driver his money and got my bag. Slowly I walked through the cold sliding doors and into the airport. I took a deep breath and headed the check in. My suitcase was tagged and I carried it to the x-ray machines. Quietly I headed towards gate three for the flight for Athens, Ohio. Right when I found the gate after ten minutes, the airplane was boarding. I ran towards the flight attendants and gave them my ticket. Pacing myself through the tunnel to enter the place, I kept wondering how my “Uncle” was like. As I entered the plane, I found my seat quickly. It wasn’t a window seat like I usually have on a plane ride. Two minutes after boarding the plane, it started to move. It was time to take off and I was a little excited. One thing was that I still had no clue who “Uncle” Flad was. Was he a business man with kids? Or a fat old man, who lives in a condo for singles?! Just thinking about it made me curious each time I thought about him. Now the place was on the run way and was speeding up. I could feel the force pressing on to me, as I leaned back into the non-leather seat. Finally we were in the air and I pulled out my pink ipod mini. I clicked the play button to turn it on and played a book. I had three books on my ipod and they were the Traveling Pants series. I was in the middle of the second book, so I continued where I was. A couple of minutes later, I had fallen asleep with earplugs on still listening to the “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants”.

Chapter Two
After a couple hours, as in two hours, I was a woken by a flight attendant. “Ma’am”, she said, “we have just arrived in Athens, Ohio.” “It is time to leave the plane; do you know where you are heading to?” I replied trying not to yawn, “Yes. My “Uncle” should be picking me up.” She nodded and disappeared behind a curtain. I got up, stretching my legs from the cramp ride, and grabbed my suit case from under my seat and hurried out of the plane. Once I the airport, I saw a strange chauffer holding a sign that said “Isabella Northway”. I approached the chauffer with caution. The chauffer asked “Isabella Northway?” I replied, “Yes, and who might you be?” He replied, “I am your Uncle Flad’s chauffer. He sent me to pick you up.” I nodded, realizing my “Uncle” was a wealthy man. As soon as we stopped talking, he hand signaled m to follow him to the limo. At first I was a little shocked seeing that my “Uncle” had me picked up in a limo. The chauffer opened my door and took my suit case. As I crawled in the limo, I saw a tiny snack bar, filled with wonderful snacks. I grabbed a packet of cashew, while the chauffer entered the limo’s driver side and started the engine. After stuffing cashews into my mouth, I started to look out the window. I saw the high school, which I might be going to, and a couple of teens my age. They stared at me and I stared back. Couple of minutes later, I saw the mansion. It was a gray mansion, with a lime green roof. At the front door I saw a strange looking man. I asked, “Who is that man at the front door?” There was silence for a moment. “That is your Uncle Flad; he has been expecting you for quite a while.” Expecting me, I thought. That is strange, even though we had never met. The limo stopped right at the staircase where my “Uncle” stood. The chauffer got out, and opened my door. I stepped out slowly quietly, slightly staring at my “Uncle”. “Hello my dear,” he greeted me; “you must be Isabelle?” I replied, “I prefer to be called Bella.” He nodded. “Well, welcome to your new home. I’ve been expecting you and very happy I have become your guardian.” I tried to smile, without making a frown. He smiled back and showed me the way in. “For your information, your room is upstairs and is the second door on the right.” I stared with a little confusion, tightening my grip on my mother’s pearl necklace. “Don’t be afraid my dear, you will soon feel right at home.” He walked off into a staircase heading down to the basement.

Chapter Three
As Flad slowly walked down the stairs, he started to smirk. For Flad he had plans for Bella. At the final step he entered a dungeon like room. For this room was not a dungeon, it was a laboratory. Not an original laboratory but a ghost laboratory. He had a secret, which no one speaks, he was half ghost. Flad is a charming fellow, who kept a few tricks up his sleeve. His hair is a silver as cloud’s lining, light tan skin with baby blue eyes. He always wore a black suit with a violet tie. In his lab, he transformed into a ghost you have never seen before. His hair turned black pulled back and had gray eyes. A suit that was white with a red cape and light blue skin fell upon him in his ghost form. Then he called his henchmen monkeys, who were ghosts as well. “Watch over Bella”, he commanded the ghost flying monkeys, “we have future plans for her and we want her as comfortable as possible.” The ghost monkeys obeyed Flad, and began their quest. As soon as his henchmen left, he laughed no regular laugh, but an evil laugh.
As I approached the oak door, I took a deep breath and entered through the door. Walking into the room, I was shocked. My room was like a dream. The walls were a royal red; the bed had a strong structure, which had a brown frame. The bed was covered with dark red pillows and a matching comforter. Across from the bed, was a small brown dresser, with red roses on top? As I continue to walk into the room, I placed my suitcase upon the bed, and unpacked. After placing all my stuff into all the places they were suppose to be. Then I had a feeling I was being watched. Peeking into the hallway, I saw no one. Looking at the clock, it was 7:30 p.m. So I went down stairs, trying to find the dining room. After five minutes of searching room after room, I finally found the dining room. It was a huge room, with many portraits. The room had a dark feeling in it, since it had oak walls. In the middle of the room, was a long dark brown table with different kinds of foods. At the end of the table, was “Uncle” Flad smiling. I sat at the other end of the table smiling back. “So what do you think of your room?” Flad asked with a smile. “It’s great.” I replied, picking up my fork to eat the spaghetti on my plate. “Wonderful, since tomorrow is Saturday, I thought we could spend some time together, since I am your guardian.” I swallowed with a frown, “Sure, I can’t wait.” I put half a smile on my face trying not to look disapproved to the idea.
~End of Chapter Three~
Chapter Four
That night, after eating dinner with “Uncle”, I explored the mansion. There were dozens and dozens of rooms I couldn’t believe. A library, Movie Theater, pool, trophy room, and so many more I couldn’t named them all! After exploring all the rooms, I decided to go to bed. When I was about to go up the stairs, I saw a door that caught my eye. I’ve never been into this room I thought. So I slowly opened the door to a dark and gloomy staircase. I entered the staircase way and went down the stone steps one by one.
At the end of the stone steps was a laboratory. The laboratory reminded me of the lab my parents had. They use to be ghost hunters until that car crash. I only went into it once, when I was ten. It had gadgets galore and a ghost portal. It was silver and was always closed. It was shaped as an octagon with yellow and black stripes on the edges. I never knew what was inside, but I was so curious to find out. I didn’t want to ask my parents, because they didn’t know I was actually down there, so I just kept it a secret.
After remembering, I took a glimpse at the lab. It was just like my parent’s ghost lab, but this one was nicer. I walked slowly forward and searched the lab. Beakers and blue prints where everywhere. Then I spotted the ghost portal. It was on the wall and looked exactly the same as my parent’s. When I was about to touch the portal, a cold hand laid upon my shoulder and I froze.
~End of Chapter Four~
Chapter Five
The cold hand turned me around and I saw “Uncle” Flad’s face. “What are you doing down here young lady?” he questioned with anger in his voice. At first I couldn’t move or speak. Then I broke the silence. “I was”, he cut me off by covering her mouth with his cold hand. I still couldn’t move I was still in shock. Then all of a sudden these flying, glowing monkeys came out of no where. Each monkey holds me down, trying not to escape and one put his furry hand on my mouth so I wouldn’t make a sound. Once I couldn’t move, “Uncle” Flad turned into a ghost. He changed into a ghost by snapping his fingers and a ray of light changed him. He looked different know and now I didn’t know what to do.
He approached me lifting my chin, “Well…” he began, and “I see you have no reason for being in my lab. There should be a punishment.” He slammed his fist on a near by table. Then he started to smile, but not a pretty smile when you are happy, but an evil smile. Moments later, he opened the ghost portal and inside was nothing. He pointed his index finger into the portal and monkeys threw me in there. I landed on my head, and I tried to find the wall. Once my hand found the cold wall, it also found the on switch. I pressed the green button and the portal was on. I could feel my body changing and the sparkles the portal made. It was uncontrollable! I couldn’t feel anything, but pain. I tried to control myself but nothing worked. There, in front of the portal was “Uncle” chuckling because his plan was a success. He knew what was happening to Bella and was happy. All of a sudden the machine was off; I was lying on the floor lifeless. I was unconscious after what happened to me. I had no idea what was going on or what was going to happen next. The only thing was that, was I still alive?
~End of Chapter Five~
Chapter Six
My eyes opened slowly to the bright sunlight coming from the window. I slowly got up from my bed and looked at the clock, 7:35 a.m. I looked around the room and put my slippers on. I looked at myself in the mirror and realized I was in my pajamas. Pajamas, I thought, how did I get in them? Just thinking made me tired, so I went down stairs maybe to see if there was breakfast. Walking down the steps, I thought to myself if what happened last night was a dream. It had to happen, the last thing I did was in “Uncle’s” lab. Then it all came back to me, the accident.
Once I saw my “Uncle” he was reading the morning newspaper. He looked up and saw me. “Well hello, I thought you would sleep in?” I didn’t feel like responding to his question, so I asked, “Last night, when I was in your lab,” There was a silent pause. “Did that really happened?” I glanced at him seeing his face make no movement. “Well of coarse it did! I was there you know?” I nodded slightly to his answer, “Then what happened?” “I will tell you later, first lets eat, we are spending the day together remember? So save your questions.” I didn’t want to save my question; I wanted to know what happened last night!
After having a quiet breakfast with “Uncle”, he told me to get dress to start our day. I slowly climbed the stairs, trying not to rush because there was nothing exciting. At last I reached my room and when I went to grab the door handle, my hand vanished! I started to freak out, trying not to let “Uncle” hear my yelp. What was happening to me, I thought. Seconds later, my hand reappeared so I turned the knob into my room and ran inside, slamming the door behind me. I looked at my hands and they were still there. I was relieved, I had no clue what was happening. I got dressed, putting on a pair of light wash jeans, with a baby blue light sweater. My hair was down, pasting an inch of my shoulders. I looked in the mirror to see if I was ok. Nothing disappeared. It only happened once and I am not sure if it will happen again. What could have made my hand disappear?
~End of Chapter Six~
Chapter Seven
I approached the end of the staircase and I saw “Uncle” holding the door for me. I wasn’t sure how long he was expecting me to come to come down, but it was nice I guess. “Let’s go”, he said, “I am going to show you the town and we’re going to go shopping.” Shopping? Showing me the town, I thought, this isn’t what I thought in spending time together. I walked through the door, and entered at the black limo, followed by “Uncle” closing the door and entering the limo. Once we were both inside, he was on my right and I was on his left. “Driver, around town”, he started, “so Bella knows where everything is and her new school.” The driver nodded and started the engine. The engine made a soft roar at first, then he stepped on the gas and we were off.
Once we were out of the drive way, I realized how beautiful Athens was. It was like I was in a painting, so peaceful and bright. Minutes past by and I gazed at the scenery, then I spotted Vera High School. It was a bricked building, about two stories high. The area was cleared, but there were some trees were spotted in various places. The word Vera High School was in lavender and the brick looked rough. Behind the school, I could see the football field. It was big and the bleachers were green. In the football field you could see the team’s name, the Grizzlies. Now I thought school was going to be interesting.
Soon “Uncle” started to point out areas, like the near by park, post office, stores, and more interesting stuff of Athens. “Don’t forget we’re going to the Plaza Mall.”, “Uncle” told the driver. He nodded and made some turns. In minutes I saw the Plaza Mall. It was huge, compared to where I shopped in California. The mall was a light lime green, and store names where near doors to enter the mall. The driver parked in front of Macy’s, and “Uncle” got out. When I was about to open my door, “Uncle” appeared and opened it. I got out saying, “Thanks”. “Uncle” replied, “My pleasure.” We walked up to the doors of Macy’s, with “Uncle’s” cold broad hand on my shoulder. The driver opened the door for us and we entered. I wasn’t sure why we were at the mall, I didn’t need anything. I questioned, “Why are we here at the mall? I don’t need anything.” “We are here to get you a dress and a few other things.” he replied, “Sometimes there are some formal businesses at the mansion, parties or other things.” A dress and a few other things, I thought, what kind of things do we do?
Walking in the mall, we went into White House Black Market, a formal store that I would fit in. I tried on an ivory Antoinette dress and it fit perfectly. It was ruffled at the bottom up to the waist, a bow around the waist, and was strapless. Then I found a Floral Flourish dress, it was ivory and black. A tuxedo designed sash, with a floral design. It was very lovely and it fit. When I was about to finish looking I saw a black beaded halter dress. It had a slightly ruched bodice, light gathers and a beaded empire waist. I showed “Uncle” the dresses and he seemed approved of them. The next store went into was a shoe store that I didn’t look at the name. The shoes were elegant and comfortable. I found some ivory and black heels in a size 5 ½. I got one pair of color, just to go with my dresses. It didn’t take long in the shoe store than White House Black Market. Once we were done, “Uncle” said, “Now we are done with those errands, I need to go to a store.” I nodded and followed him close behind. It took quiet a while till we got to the store we wanted. “Stay right here, I will be right back.” he told me. I slightly nodded and he entered the store.
As Flad entered the store, it was not like any kind of store you would see at a mall. It was some sort of ghost store. There were weapons, equipment, magazines, and more made for ghosts. When Flad was walking up to the counter, there were other ghosts inside, purchasing or just looking. At the counter, a ghost named Steve appeared and said, “May I help you?” “Yes, I ordered a Simon black mask, a Laser Blaster 900, and a “First Look” magazine, couple of weeks ago; it should have come in today.” Flad said. At first Steve was a little confused, so he disappeared into the back of the store and came back with one large package. “That would be $87.23 sir.” Flad pulled out his wallet and took out his Visa card. He slid it through and wrote his signature. “Thank you and come again.” Flad didn’t respond, just walked out the door with the mysterious white box.
“Okay”, Flad said coming out of the shadows of the store. When I heard his voice, I responded by getting off the bench. “Since that is done, how about we get some lunch?” He started smiling, so I replied mumbling, “Sure”. “Well we can go to California Pizza Kitchen; it is around the corner of the mall.” So I followed “Uncle” out of the mall and into the parking lot. He gave the bags to the driver to put in the trunk, including the package. After he closed the trunk, and started the engine, we were out of the parking lot. The driver knew where he was going and it took only a couple of minutes. As soon as we parked, I got out, trying not to have “Uncle” opening my door again. I looked at the restaurant, and it was unique. It was a white building, with a lot of windows around it. It was a lovely place to eat, so I was a little happy. Once “Uncle” got out of the limo, I followed him inside and to our table. We sat a booth near a window, facing the street. When the waiter came to our table, “Uncle” ordered for me. He ordered the Chicken Piccata, tea for him, and I ordered water. The Chicken Piccata sound delicious, so I couldn’t wait to eat. Once the waiter came back, I realized this was the perfect time to ask “Uncle” what happened last night. So I took a deep breath, and asked, “Last night, when I was in your lab, what happened to me?”
~End of Chapter Seven~
Chapter Eight
At first there was silence, then he broke it. “How can I explain this? Oh yes, your DNA was mixed with ghost DNA, making you half ghost.” Half ghost, I thought, that can’t be. “That can’t be”, I said, “Ghosts don’t exist, do they?”
“They do exist, and yes you are for real half ghost.” he said with a smirk. Looking at his smirk, made me wonder if he did this on purpose, but he couldn’t, could he? There was a moment of silence, until the waiter came with our Chicken Piccata and our drinks. We ate in silence, not talking about ghosts or what happened.
After our late lunch, we headed back to the mansion. It was about a 15-minute ride from the restaurant, and it was silent the whole way. When we got back, I headed up to my room where I could get privacy. Up in my room I laid flat on my back on my bed. Staring at the ceiling I kept thinking what “Uncle” said. I’m half ghost, I really couldn’t believe it, and how could this happen to me?! I got up, and stared at my hands. If I am half ghost, what powers do I have, I thought to myself. Then all of a sudden, my hands went invisible. What’s happening to me? I put some strength in my hands and they were back to normal. At first I didn’t know how I did that, but maybe I should ask “Uncle”.
That night, I had the weirdest dream. I was flying and I had snow white hair. My eyes were a soft baby blue and I had a strange outfit on. It was a white elastic suit, with some baby blue edges on the neck, wrists, and ankles. The cold air was blowing through my hair and it felt so real. My arms were stretched out like a bird flying, my body was soaring through the sky. The sun shining on my face, and I did a couple of loopy de loops, just for the heck of it. Then all of a sudden I started falling. The bright sun shine was gone, and I was still falling. Everything turned bloody red and then I stopped falling. I was on the ground, flat on my butt, and then I saw a mysterious dark shadow. It appeared in front of me with dark red eyes glowing, its hand rose and a fire glow came out of its hand. It pulled its arm back and threw the fire glow ball right at me. Its speed was picking up and when it was about to hit me, I woke up.
~End of Chapter Eight~
Chapter Nine
I woke up with fright in my eyes; I got up quick and stared at the dresser. My heart beating fast and I took in deep breathes to slow it down. There was some light peeking through the red curtain, so I knew it was day time. Now standing wearing my fuzzy pink slippers with my pink tank and bottoms for pajamas, I looked at the clock. It was 9:34 a.m., Sunday morning, this time when I woke up. I got my brush that was on my dresser and brushed my hair, making it nicer for breakfast. Then I walked down the hallway and down the stairs, and into the dining room, where I saw “Uncle” waiting for me to join him for breakfast. I took a seat across from him, where a stack of home made pancakes in front of my seat. Pancakes, I thought, I haven’t had these in a while. I took my fork and cut off a piece. When I was about to take a bite of the sweet pancake in syrup, my “Uncle” asked, “How did you sleep last night, I heard some screams, coming in your room.” I put my fork done, and answered, “I just had a bad dream that’s all, no need to worry “Uncle”.” He raised his eyebrow with suspicion in his eyes, then said, “You sure it isn’t something I can help with?” “I am completely sure”, I said nodding. He took his eyes off me, and I continued to eat the delicious pancakes.
When I was done with the stack of pancakes, I looked to see if “Uncle” was still sitting across from me, but he was gone. So I thought, I could get dress and grab a book to read. I headed up the stairs and into my room; I put on a pale yellow collar shirt and a pair of jeans. I grabbed my Traveling Sister Pants book and headed down stairs to the study. It was a short walk, and it was only down the hall from the dining room. Once I entered the room, I took a seat on the leather couch and opened up my book. The room had oak walls and had some windows. They were closed with shutters and pictures of famous artist’s artwork hung on the walls. Along the walls were ten feet tall bookcases, with many books to choose from. There were a couple of leather chairs and some oak desks, but I sat on the leather couch reading. I was still in the middle of the book and I was enjoying how they shared the pants. After a couple of hours, two to be exact, I heard my “Uncle’s” voice calling, “Bella!” I didn’t know where it was coming from at first, but when I was near the door to the lab I heard his voice coming from down there so I slowly stepped down the stone cold steps.
When I reached the lab, I saw my “Uncle” standing right across me. “You wanted me “Uncle”?” I said quietly. “Yes, remember when I told you about you being half ghost, well” A light went around him and he turned into a ghost. Black hair, red eyes, light blue skin, and an interesting outfit. “Your half ghost too?” I question. “Yes in deed. It happened to me ten years ago, when I was 20.”
~End of Chapter Nine~
Chapter Ten
“It was lab accident; you see I was in college with you parents. We were good friends and we had a project. It was your mother’s idea to build a small portal; this portal was to enter the Ghost Zone.” “The Ghost Zone?” I question. “Yes, that is where all ghosts are found and live. Let’s continue the story, after months of working on this portal, it was finally done. After our hard work, we couldn’t wait until to start it. The day we started the portal, is a day that will still be remembered to me. When we were about to start it, I examined it before your, father pressed the button. As I was about to step away, your father accidentally sat on the bottom. Plasma energy blasted out of the portal and struck my chest. I was pushed back and I hit the wall, and slid to the floor. So now ever since the plasma energy blasted at my, I have changed.”
I started nodding, “So now I am half ghost, how will it affect me?” “You will have powers!” he stated, “Endoplasmic energy blast, invisibility, and so much more. Since I had many years of practice, I can help you master these powers.” “Really?” I question. “Yes! And we will start right now.” He placed his hand on my shoulder, and we became invisible. Then he lifted me through the air and through the ceiling. We went through different levels in the mansion, until we stopped on the roof.
~End of Chapter Ten~
Chapter Eleven
Once we were on the flat, lime green roof, “Uncle” let go of my shoulder and we returned visible. It was a clear, sunny day, and not a cloud in sight for miles. I gazed at the beautiful scene, seeing forests scattered around, and most of the town. Then I slowly turned my head facing “Uncle”, face to face. “To start the training you must get into ghost form”, he said without a breath. I ****ed my head in confusion, having no idea to get into ghost form. He sighed, and said, “To turn into your ghost form, you must concentrate on thinking of ghosts, or going ghost.” Silence, I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. My eyes opened and I placed my hands on each shoulder. Without thinking, my arms flew across my body and a flash of light flashed around me.
My hair changed from faded blonde, to ghostly white. My eyes from silver to a soft baby blue, but they were almost glowing. Also my outfit had changed. I was changed into a white elastic suit, with baby blue edges on the neck, wrists, and ankles. My ghost form was complete and I felt completely different. I lifted my head and I saw “Uncle” slowly clapping. “Good, now let’s begin”, he said with a smirk, “Let’s work on endoplasmic energy blast.” “To use endoplasmic energy blast, you must concentrate on putting force into your hands and the blast will come out of your palms.” So I sighed, and held out my right palm out and concentrated on putting strength into it. After a couple of minutes, I felt something tingling in my palm and a blue ray of energy blast blasted out of my palm. My eyes widen and I took the force out of my hand. The beam disappeared out of my hand, and I was shocked! How did I do that, I thought to myself, this can’t be happening! I looked at “Uncle”, who said, “Good, but we will work with that later, now let’s try invisibility. To become invisibility, you must let go of your feelings. As in you must relax or you could let go of your thoughts.” There was silence for a moment, and I was trying to let go of my thoughts. It was difficult to loose my thoughts, since I was thinking of a million things. So after half an hour of losing my thoughts, I turned invisible. “Uncle” looked at me, where I last stood visible. “Excellent my dear”, he said and I turned visible again. After going back visible, I turned back into my human form, and I felt exhausted. “Well that’s the lesson for the day. I will take you to your room, since you still haven’t controlled you powers.”, “Uncle” said, while grabbing my shoulder and turning invisible. We went down about two levels of the mansion, until we stopped by door. “Well it 6:30 p.m., dinner will be ready in thirty minutes I’ll send someone up to get you”, he told and walked down the hall, and disappeared.
~ End of Chapter Eleven ~
Chapter Twelve
As soon as “Uncle” went around the corner, I sighed with relief and entered my room. Slowly closing the door behind me, I walked over to my bed, and laid flat on my back. Pain was in every inch of my body and I felt exhausted. I didn’t know this ghost training would be so difficult, I thought, closing my eyes. Shutting my eye lids felt relaxing, all I could see was complete darkness and that’s all I wanted to see for now. Minutes later, the pain was dissolving and I felt much better. I flashed open my eyes and got up. Stretching my arms out, I stared at the framed photograph of my parents. I smiled, and wish they were here with me, instead of this mansion.
Few moments later, I heard a soft tap on my door. Slowly, I walked over and opened the door to see a flying ghost monkey. Filled with surprise, I stared at the flying monkey with my eyes wide open. Realizing, the monkey was probably here to take down to dinner. “Yes?” I said with softness in my voice. The ghost monkey said nothing, but persuaded his hand towards the stairs, “Okay”. I followed him as he floated down the staircase, and into the dining room. The food was placed on the table, but “Uncle” wasn’t there. “Where’s Flad?” I asked. The monkey didn’t say anything and left the room. Looking lost, I sat down on the end of the table, where a bowl set up, with chowder soup. I slowly ate, waiting if “uncle” was going to join me, but he didn’t.
Once I finished my soup, and a couple of drinks of water, I realized “uncle” wasn’t going to join me. So I left the empty bowl on the table, and headed up stairs to my room. There I changed into my pajamas, and sat on my bed. I stretched out my arm, palm facing the wall, and concentrate. Slowly taking deep breathes, and putting forcing into my hand. As soon there was force, an ectoplasm energy blast, blasted out of my palm. Quickly, I closed my palm, and I realized I was starting to control my powers. Now I had to transform into my ghost form, since I couldn’t go invisible, so I flashed my arms across my chest and I became half ghost. My powers were becoming easier and I was starting to love them. Once I was in ghost form, I tried going invisible and it worked. I just relaxed my body and became invisible for two whole minutes. There has to be more ways to become invisible, I thought, but for know I will try and figure it out with “uncle”. Once again, I laid flat on my back, and turned back into my normal form. Using my ghost powers were exhausting since it was my first time using them and I needed all the rest I could have. Tomorrow is my first day at my new school, and I really wasn’t excited. Just thinking about tomorrow made it more tiring and what a day it would be. Staring at the ceiling, my eyes began to close slowly and were shut. I had fallen asleep.

Chapter Thirteen
The next morning, I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock buzzing. My face was in the pillow and I raised my head to see what time it was. “5:32 a.m.”, I moaned, “Why this early?” School didn’t start until 8:20 and it only took fifteen minutes just to walk to school. Realizing it was now or later, I rosin from the bed, slammed my hand on the alarm clock, and headed to the bathroom, which was connected to the room. Inside the bathroom, all I saw was a white marble. The sink was marble, counters, floor, and shower. Gazing at my bathroom, I saw that my toothbrush and other accessories were already in placed. At the moment I didn’t really care, so I entered the bathroom, stepping onto the cold marble floor. Staring into the mirror, I realized that I had to take a shower, since I had the training. So I started the shower, and pulled the pink bath curtain to cover the whole shower. It took awhile to warm up, but after tree minutes of waiting, I jumped in the shower. Feeling the water pounding onto my back, I felt relaxed, and started to wash.
The shower only took seven minutes, and I felt fresh as a daisy. I blew dried my long hair, and grabbed my violet robe to put on. Walking out of the cold marble bathroom, I walked over to my drawers, and pulled out a pair of dark jeans, a purple tank top, and a solid black sweatshirt. I slipped on my jeans, pulled on the tank top, and slipped on the black sweatshirt. After getting dressed, I walked into my bathroom, brushed my teeth, put mascara on, and combed my hair. Walking out of the bathroom, I slipped my feet into my sage studded skimmer black shoes and tidied up my bed. Looking at the time as I walked out of my bedroom door, it was 6:21 a.m., and I had a lot of time to get ready for school.
I walked down the hall way and down the stairs into the dinning room. No one was in the room, but me, so I realized “Uncle” was in the kitchen. Finding my way to the kitchen only took two minutes, until I saw “Uncle” pouring a glass of black coffee. The kitchen was dark, and oak was everywhere. Oak floor, counters with black marble on top, and the shelves. “Good morning Bella”, he said with a little cheer in his voice, “Sleep well?” “Yes I did thank you. So what’s for breakfast?” I said smiling. “Well Nathan, my chef is cooking some omelettes and bacon. Are you fine with that?” I nodded slowly, looking over “Uncle” Flad’s shoulder seeing the chef cook. “How about you have a seat here at the kitchen counter, while Nathan finishes up making breakfast.”, “Uncle” said, while gesturing his hand towards a stool. I looked at him, and sat down on the stool against the counter, while he left the kitchen. As soon as “Uncle” left, I watched Nathan cook the omelettes and bacon. After watching him cook, Nathan turned of the stove, and placed my meal on a plate. “Enjoy”, he said in a low tone. “Thanks”. I grabbed the fork, next to my plate and began to eat my omelettes. They were interesting, but not great, so I ate half of it and ate my bacon.
As I finished my breakfast, I grabbed my plate and silverware and put them in the sink. I looked around the kitchen, and saw a wall clock. It was 7:39 and I had to pack my book bag. So I walked out of the kitchen and to the staircase. On the side of the staircase, was a black book bag, filled with all my materials I needed. Well now I don’t have to pack my book bag, I thought, and walked up the staircase. I went into my room and grabbed my Vera Bradley purse, with a dark pattern, which was against my bed. I placed it on my shoulder, and walked down the hallway and down the stairs. Taking a peek in the kitchen, I saw the time and it 7:52, and I had to get going. “Uncle” was no where to be seen, so I grabbed my book bag, and headed out the door.

Chapter Fourteen
As I walked down the steps and on to the drive way, the sky was a baby blue, with a little yellow scatted in the sky. Clouds, scattered in the sky, had a tone of a light pink and purple. The air was cool, but the sun warmed it up a bit. Slowly walking down the drive way, I squeezed the arm of my book bag tightly, knowing that a new day at my new school was about to begin for me. Now walking onto the sidewalk connected to the driveway, I notice that my new school was only half a mile away. No worrying about being late, I thought, but it would be nice to be early. My walking speed started to increase and everything started to pass by me. Every time I took a step, I got closer to school. Then all of a sudden I stopped.
I was in front of my new school by the time I stopped. I turned my body towards the cold, bricked building. In lavender, were the words “Vera High” above the entrance of the school. The cold, bricked building was two stories high, and had three gray steps to enter the school. There were some teens scattered in front of the school chatting to each other, luckily not noticing me. I walked up the three gray steps, pulled on the cold handle and slowly entered Vera High.
As I walked into Vera High, I notice how quiet it was in the hallway. The walls were light lime green and the floors were a pale marble white. Lockers, about fix feet tall, which were green, side by side against the walls. I continued walking into the building and looked for the office. Door after door, I looked for the office, until I was in the middle of the hall way where I saw the sign that said “High School Office”. The door had white blinds, hiding whatever was inside. I opened the door and approached inside the office. It wasn’t really much, just coffee brown carpet, wooden chairs against the wall, couple of ferns, a main desk, and another door. I walked towards the main desk, where a women sat behind, gazing into her white Macintosh computer. “Excuse me?” I said with a tiny smile. The women turned her head towards me, “May I help you?” she said with a grin. “Yes, I’m new to Vera High. My name is Bella Northway, and I would like to know where my classes are and my locker.” The women nodded, “Oh yes, Bella Northway. Well I’ll print out your schedule, map of the school, and your locker number.” “Thank you”, I replied, she nodded and printed out what I needed. It only took a couple of minutes to print, and once it was done, she handed the piece of paper to me. “Here you go dear. If you need any help, feel free to come back to the office.” I nodded and headed out the door. Now all I had to do was set up my locker, read my schedule, and my first day at Vera School will begin.

Chapter Fifteen
I walked out the door and peered through the hallway. It was quiet and people were walking up and down the halls. I pulled out the piece of paper the women gave to me. Scanning down the list of classes, homeroom, and schedule, I found my locker number. Locker number 161, top locker, I read to myself. Then I looked at my homeroom; Mrs. Blue, room number 91. I looked up from reading the piece of paper and I saw that I was in from of room 89. I looked down the hall and on my left side, I saw room number 90. Squeezing my book bag’s arm, I walked down the hallway until I saw room number 91 on the right hand side. Her door was a pale white, with a square window in the middle of it, to look into the room. I was only three feet away from the door, until I found my locker.
I was only a few feet away from her door, when I found my locker. It was on the same side as Mrs. Blue’s door and it was only ten lockers away. As I stood in front of my locker, I noticed the number 161 was in silver, just like the other lockers. I pulled the small, silver handle and opened my locker. Inside were two built into shelves that were ten inches apart. On the top shelf were five text books, side by side. On each spine was the subjects; Literature, Language Arts, Algebra I, History, and Life Science.
I zipped open my book bag and took out six spirals, all with a different color. Then I took out a white 1 ½ inch binder and a journal. Inside the binder were six black folders and a clear pencil case, filled with yellow highlights, a black and red ball-point pen, two mechanical pencils and a black sharpie. I place everything, but my binder, on the top shelf and my book bag on the bottom. As I looked at my sheet of paper, my first period class was literature and my teacher was Ms. Page, but the class didn’t start until 8:30 a.m. and it was 8:11. As I continue to read the sheet of paper, it said that I needed my literature book and a red spiral. So I grabbed those two selected things out of my locker and placed them on top of my binder. As I was about to close my locker, someone from behind me shouted, “Hi!”
