Lights on for Dark Rides!

After months of hard work I'm very proud to announce/launch the very first VMK Dark Rides! The team spent lots of time creating all the items to make these rides faithful virtual recreations of their park counterparts. Hopefully you will enjoy them as much as we do! But before I hop back on Peter Pan's Flight I have a few notes that will help make the game experience even better!

Pulling the Sword from a Stone!

By far the most asked question about the new Fantasyland update is, 'How do I get a Sword in the Stone Single Use Magic Pin?' This question is also usually followed by does the sword comes out of the stone? The easy answer is you MIGHT win a Pin by riding either Alice in Wonderland or Peter Pan's Flight. And yes, every time you ride one of the attractions there's a chance you'll win a the Sword in the Stone Single Use Magic Pin

Notice I said you might win – not every ride will get you a pin – so ride often and keep your fingers crossed! Now what should you do if you're lucky enough to win a pin?

The sword may be stuck – but if you pull it, you're in luck!

Well, just head on over to the sword in the Fantasyland Courtyard (make sure you're wearing the Sword in the Stone Pin) and then activate the pin. Your character will then walk up to the sword automatically and give it a tug. If the sword comes out of the stone you win something cool! But keep riding for a chance to win because the prizes will be changing!

If you check the Community Calendar you'll see a Ride-A-Thon scheduled for this month!

The Fantasyland Ride-A-Thon will run April 27, 28 and 29th. After the Ride-A-Thon you'll see more items as well as track pieces available in the shops – but please remember, as I've said before, not all of the pieces will be released – but you will see quite a few releases as well as our new Dark Ride Guest Room! Sweet!

Fantasyland Quests

In addition to launching the new Fantasyland dark rides, we also launched the first of 4 in-game Fantasyland Quests. The questions are a mix from the animated feature films as well as the dark ride attractions. This week's Quest is from Peter Pan, so grab that DVD (check out that new 2-disc set if you haven't already, it's awesome) and get your Pan On! Want a heads up for next week? Do the words 'Dinah the Cat' mean anything to you?

Cool Stuff? We Got Lots!

Along with the dark rides there are several new functionality changes now in the game – including, a new room information window, an enhanced trade window – which offer greater details when you click on an item in any menu or the trade window. To find out exactly how these new features work (as well as many others) be sure to check the FAQs section on the site.

Well there you go! We hope you enjoy the enhancements and new rides – they're a labor of love for the VMK Team so we really hope you enjoy them. If you like them and want more let us know – and just so you know, I'm a huge Mr. Toad's Wild Ride fan and would love an excuse to ride it a bunch more! Later!

I'm happy for another ride-a-thon! Woot! We also know now when the stuff will be in the shops, at the end of the month.

Those hedges would make nice replacements for the pirate walls in the treasure chests, if that ever happens.

Nice! Not a lot we didn't know already, but it's good to know the ride pieces will be available and we will get the "dark" guest room!

Now if they would just start the new in-park quests!

now i have one question, if its going to be a guest room available to us, will our furniture items glow in the dark? Or will the items be lit by lights....

This left me quite puzzled and I would like to hear your thoughts on this...

So basically, just the ride parts and dividers are going to end up going on sale/being realeased to players? Does this mean by "quite a few," he really means "use your imagination, we can't release the characters, backdrops, and stuff like that"?

I knew there would be an update, last time the newsletter was that short there was.

i noticed this too..also with the pan quest pin...will we be seeing new costumes? Alice and Pan? Let's wait and see what yavn and the team has planned for us!

Take a good look at all the items (including the dark room) in the winning, losing, and hosting room of the host game tonight, those will probably be all the items released to us. With that said, i think we will be saying good bye to the backdrops of rooms, the different music in each room, and the animated characters.

As for questions:

1. What will be going on the rest of the month? It's worded as if nothing will be released until the ride-a-thon happens.

I love the alice quest pin :D

It's about time VMK started selling some new stuff, it's been like weeks, months? Since they started spreading the word for new features like the dark rides and the new castle forcout, I totally disagree that we have to pay 10 credits to go on a 1 minute ride. I think it should be like 5 credits, but VMK isn't cheap.

Next month we'll be exploring new clothing. There going to start spreading the word that sorcerer and princess minnie is going to come out in stores, so if people trading sorcerer, this is a very bad time now, since I think everyone is VMK knows.

About the coustumes, I dont think people will be selling them, but I strongly beelive you can buy them at WDW. The pin? never had a chance to buy it yet, but I'll get to it soon.
