Alissia Peterson and Julie Peterson are twins. They both live with their mom now that their parents divorced four years ago when they were nine. Now as their turning 13 all Alissia wants to do is go back. Julie gets the attention,praise from her mom, the boys,the clothes,the popularity,the everything,and well Alissia gets nothing. She feels like a shadow living amongst everyone else. Alisssia feels turning 13 will only make her life more miserable. Shew often asks herself. "Im just like Her...Arent I?". Chapter 1
"Alissia? Wake up"said her mom knocking slighty on the door.
Her mom usually went to Alissia's room then Julie's room knocking twice to get them up. Alissia sat up in her bed, rubbed her eyes and drug herself out of bed. She got on her monkey slippers she's had since who knows when and went downstairs to the kitchen. Julie was already there, showered, eaten breakfast,and dressed. She was looking in some new Vogue magazine. "Morning Aliss"said Julie. "Hi"said Alissia. I mean it seemed Julie liked her but Alissia still felt odd. "I need to leave early girls Ill be home around seven so call the neighbors in case of emergency. Love you bye"said Mom. Her mom shut the front door and left. "Well Im off to the bathroom"said Julie. "For what you've showered?"said Alissia. "For my makeup duh, you should wear some to get rid of those awful dark circles under your eyes"said Julie. She pretended to shudder and left. Alissia sighed staring at her cereal box.
"JU-LIEEE"said Alissia outside the bathroom door a half hour later. "What?"she said. "Come on I need to get in"said Alissia. She checked her watch. "Half hour to shower,eat,get dressed,and catch the bus before the bell wrings"said Alssia to herself. "OK Im done"said Julie she came out looking all fake like usual with all her "delicate balance of products" as she said it. "Finally"said Alissia. She went in and took a shower.
After she got dressed in jeans, a striped blue ,yellow,and white polo and clogs. "Come on Alissia"said Julie wating at the front door. "Ok"said Alissia. She grabbed her JanSport and went to the front door. "Hullo? Oh Hey Mads yeah were getting on now Ill see you later"said Julie on the phone. "Who's that?"said Alissia. "Lis why do you need to know everything gosh"said Julie. Alissia rolled her eyes and waited for the bus.
Chapter 2
It was eighty twenty eight. "Great only two minutes to get to class" thought Alissia. She slammed her locker door shut and sped the halls (luckily no hall inspectors were there) suddenly with a woosh she fell and slammed into one of the most popular girls in school, Debra Willlocks. "I-I-Im so sorry ,really"said Alissia studdering. She picked up her fallen geography papers from the floor and quickly placed them in the side pocket of her binder. "No big, anyways can you tell your sister Id like to speak with her later."said Debra. Before Alissia said a word Debra said: "Thanks your awesome" and her and her "possy" walked off.
"Weird...."said Alissia in her head, Still puzzled she walked off and suddenly heard a loud BRRIINNGG "No!"said Alissia outloud. She finally got to her class which was English. "Ah-ha Alissia your late luckily I won't mark you tardy...today that is!"said the teacher. "Sorry and Thank you"said Alissia quietly. She took a seat on the left near the back her favorite spot. She had a perfect view of the window where all the birds would come over and the butterflies flutter around the bush. As she sat down her sister gave a Ooh-why-were-you-late-Alissia look. Alissia hated that look. She sighed as she opened her book to the assigned page.
Chapter 3
It was lunch now. Alissia put her geography books away and P.E bag. She grabbed her brown paper bag lunch bag and went to the ever so busy lunch room. She sat her and her best friend Mary's, and Johnny's table.. "Hey Lissia"said Johnny. "Hey guys"said Alissia pulling out a chair and sitting down. "Where's Mary?"asked Alissia while getting her PB&J sandwich. "Oh She has to finish a Chem project she'll be done soon."said Johnny. "OK"said Alissia. She began eating. "So what's up? Something wrong?"said Johnny wiping his mouth from his Blastin Berry Fruit Punch. "Not really, just them"said Alissia pointing her head in her sister's table's direction. "Oh"said Johnny. He let out a sigh. He wasn't too "popular" either. "Heya"said Mary sitting down. She rushed in and sat. "Woah hey, finish your assignment?"said Johnny. "Yeah took forever. What's new?"said Mary. "Nothing"said Alissia. "That's the way it always seems"said Mary. "Well you guys want to come over to study after school?"suggested Aliana. "Sure"they replied. Alissia smiled. "I dont think My sister is having any of her friends over. I think she's going shopping. For the seventh time this week. And it's only Wednesday."said Alissia. Mary rolled her eyes. Unfortunatley Alissia's friends didnt like Julie too much.
After lunch it was recess and Alissia,Mary,ands Johnny usually sat under the big oak tree against the school wall. No one came there, it was the perfect spot. "We should totally build a rope swing"said Johnny playing around with some bark. "Yeah like that'll happen. This school has no money almost at all"said Mary. "True"said Johnny. "Hey are you guys going to the playoff game Sunday?"said Alissia. "No why would we"said Mary. "Oh well ,Julie's a cheerleader so I go to all of them. I was just wondering"said Alissia. "I have to go to some concert anyway"said Johnny. "Oh"said Alissia. BBBBBBBBBBBLLLLLLLEEEWWW went the teacher's whistle. "Lets go"said Mary. All the kids scattered into their different lines and went inside. It finally reached Spring and they were lucky enough to get outside.
Chapter 4
After the girls got home off the bus Alissia went straight inside to finish her homework quick and ask if Johnny and Mary could come over. She got inside and her mom was making baked potatoes and soup."Hey mom"said Alissia. "Hey Lis, where's Jules?"said Mom. "She's coming..."said Alissia. She went up and kissed her mom then put her backpack under the white whicker chair in the hall. "So Lis, your birthday is coming"said Mom. "I know why?"said Alissia. "Well you'll be 13, dont you want something special??"said her mom. "Not really...I guess"said Alissia opening her geography book. "OK well Im just saying since Julie's having a pool party. Wouldn't it be nice to have your own party?"said Mom. "I think Julie having one is enough"said Alissia and she went back to doing her homework.
Just then Julie came in the door with her best friend Alexia. "Great"muttered Alissia. "Hey Mom, hey Lis"said Julie. "Hey Jules,well Hi Alexia welcome!"said her mom. Alexia smiled. "So how's school?"said Mom. "Good ,well can we have a snack then were going to make cheer mixes"said Julie. "Ok grab anything"said mom. "Ok cool,oh and Lis can we use your computer it has a great mixer. You dont mine right?"said Julie. "Well I was having Johnny and Mary come-"before Alissia finished Julie butted in. "Thanks Sis". Alissia sighed.
Chapter 5
Sadly Mary and Johnny couldn't come over once again because of Julie. She always got her way. Instead Alissia watched reruns of mom's soap opera's and helped in the kitchen. She was pretty bored. For dinner mom and Alissia made pork chops, mash potatoes, and broccoli. "Dinner's Ready"shouted Mom. "Ok"said Alissia. She ran into the kitchen and saw mom fiddling with a pan. "Honey can you ask Jules to come down?"said Mom. "Alright Mom"said Alissia. She went to Julie's room and knocked twice at the door. "What??"said Julie. "Dinner, mom says come downstairs now"said Alissia. "Ok One minute"said Julie. Alissia sighed. One minute always turned into a half hour, before you knew it an hour. Julie was probably Iming online or something unimportant thought Alissia. She went back downstairs and sat at the table. Seven minutes later Julie came down. "Wow faster than usual" thought Alissia. She wouldn't make that remark outloud, she's probably just get punished.
After dinner Julie had dishes duty. Julie hated doing the dishes more than anything. While Julie did the dinner dishes Alissia went to watch "Next Top Model" on TV. It was her and Julie's favorite show. They would watch it together every week. Alissia always wanted to be a model, but knew that was far away in her future-maybe not even in her future. Mom brought out some popcorn and sparkling grape juice to eat and drink while watching the show. It was the only peaceful time in their hourse that they actually spent together.
While watching TV Alissia thought about tomorrow. It was her 13th birthday. She wondered what would happen, or what suprises were coming. For the most part she didn't care. She didn't even want to turn 13 none of the less have a party.
