Just thought I'd share bc its cool, we're going to march in WDW cant tell you when but lets just say, its soon (:blbunny: ). It might me the Spectro Magic Parade but they dont assign bands to that until 2 weeks from when we leave. The best thing is that we get to go to Universal (Never been there), MGM, Magic Kingdom, and Animal Kingdom with my friends and one of my friends is in a wheelchair (because he has knee problems) so we get to go to the front of the line :D
Pretty cool huh?

Congratulations, NemoFinder!
I marched at Disney World when I was in high school. (10 years ago.)
I played the trumpet at the front of our 350-student marching band. We played at Universal Studios and marched in the 3:00pm parade in the Magic Kingdom. My parents, like many band parents at our school, came to the parks to watch the performances, so that was really special for me - I was playing music at the Happiest Place on Earth. It was a memorable time.
Disney called the program "Magic Music Days," and everyone in our band got a free shirt with the name of the program on it.
It was fun to be at Disney World with my band friends that week. Our joke at the time was trying to figure out how many tourists videotaped us playing music. We also took rides on many different-colored monorails and sat at the front, just for the heck of it. We also memorized all of the safety instructions that we heard in Spanish everywhere. Perhaps that's what got me my high score on the AP exam? Kidding!
I would say the most significant part of this program was being able to use the "secret" doors around the Magic Kingdom to go backstage. I see these doors whenever I visit the park now. Some of them don't even have "Cast Member Only" signs anymore; they just blend into the scenery. I just smile when I walk past them now. A few of us took a couple of pictures walking around backstage- behind the Disney rides (mostly of ride float / buildings and whatnot). Remember, this was well before the days of digital cameras; I'm sure it's highly discouraged now. I loved seeing the cast members backstage, and couldn't believe that I would be performing alongside them.
I hope you have a magical time at Disney World, and practice your music! I couldn't believe how close Disney fans stood near us while we were marching. Just remember how many of them are taping you.
Best of luck,

That is really exciting!
If I go on playing my violin for a while, I might get a chance like this. My teacher mentioned sometime way back when.
Have fun!
