My choice: Atlantis.
IAmtheWalrus 03-22-2007, 02:46 AM I agree with you, probably Atlantis, from the ones that I have seen in the list.
LRGoalie 03-22-2007, 02:51 AM Alantis, Treasure Planet, and the Emperor's New Groove.
The series for the Emperos's New Groove should go off the air ( no offence to ppl who like it )
gigarichard 03-22-2007, 02:53 AM I do not like the Aristocats at all.
AlexKZ 03-22-2007, 02:55 AM I'd choose either Atlantis or Treasure Planet.
Never liked them, and never will.
:magic: AlexKZ
Nemofinder 03-22-2007, 02:57 AM Atlantis and Treasure planet weren't great alright but not that good
Schmoofy 03-22-2007, 02:59 AM I loved Atlantis and Treasure Planet, personally.
I don't care for older cartoons, however classics are fine with me. My choice is Fun and Fancy Free
IAmtheWalrus 03-22-2007, 03:00 AM I don't know, I kind of like Emperor's New Groove for some reason. Never saw the show though, lol.
AlohaLiilo 03-22-2007, 03:24 AM Emperor's New Groove ...bleeeuhhhhh
WafflePrincess 03-22-2007, 03:25 AM I always hated Atlantis. :|
crazycrazyfrog 03-22-2007, 03:30 AM I love all Disney movies, yes even the Little Mermaid ( dont tell the media ), I love all things related to Disney, and of course, Disney itself. Lol. Would it be okay if I pick a favorite?
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.
P-U-R-E G-E-N-I-U-S
I mean, you KNOW its genius when you take a stuffed-honey-loving-bear and team it up with a piglet, a tigger, a rabbit, and an owl! Come on! Lol. Tell THAT one to the media, though.
piratesrock 03-22-2007, 03:36 AM Pinocchio..AHHH!
iShadow 03-22-2007, 03:41 AM I would have to say I hate Disney's Peter Pan.
Why?
Because it disgraces the original Peter Pan.
I mean, I love the story of Peter Pan, but when Disney recreated it, they disgraced the orginal version.
lemonysnicket3 03-22-2007, 04:46 AM i hate meet the robinsons...i mean first of all why 2037? and second of all, do you SEE any progress on this?
I personally hate MOST movies of the 2000 era. there is some good ones, but most of them aren't the same, calm, family fun movies like they used to be
Kitri 03-22-2007, 05:24 AM Home on the Range. Never liked it
Caterpillar AEIOU 03-22-2007, 05:31 AM Saludos Amigos (1942)
Make Mine Music (1946)
Fun and Fancy Free (1947)
Melody Time (1948)
All of those bored me to sleep!
:dye_eggs2:
reality 03-22-2007, 06:14 AM Without doubt...have you ever seen Fun & Fancy Free???? eek don't bother, scary bad.
NaviMap 03-22-2007, 06:51 AM If Hercules wasn't good enough to completely wipe out the Golden Age of Disney Animated Features (Little Mermaid, Beauty & the Beast, Aladdin, Lion King), The Emperor's New Groove I think brought Disney animation to the most unfortunate position.
jsmall 03-22-2007, 10:09 PM Treasure Planet (2002) I hated that one.
CapnOlaf 03-22-2007, 10:11 PM Meet the Robinsons hasn't even come out yet! >_<
Home on the Range was the worst.
Oh, and you forgot The Wild
futuremartymcfly 03-22-2007, 10:18 PM I personally thought the final two James-Newton Howard era Disney movies were pretty good, and of the three Dinosaur was the worst. However, the worst ever Disney animated film, imo was Home on the Range.
Most overrated: Lilo and Stitch.
PrincessAnnO 03-22-2007, 10:28 PM Atlantis .....
CapnOlaf 03-22-2007, 10:32 PM I personally thought the final two James-Newton Howard era Disney movies were pretty good, and of the three Dinosaur was the worst. However, the worst ever Disney animated film, imo was Home on the Range.
Most overrated: Lilo and Stitch.
Yeah, I like James' score, (Especially the King Kong(2005) score).
BasketballFarrah 03-22-2007, 10:36 PM Atlantis and Treasure Planet ugh....they're so dumb!
Pinkdust 03-22-2007, 10:40 PM Atlantis and Lilo & Stitch...
I really don't know why... but those movies simply bore me to tears.
FinnDisney 03-22-2007, 11:02 PM I would have to say I hate Disney's Peter Pan.
Why?
Because it disgraces the original Peter Pan.
I mean, I love the story of Peter Pan, but when Disney recreated it, they disgraced the orginal version.
LOL funny I always thought they made it better. Oh. But it's you, iShadow. no wonder I disagree. xD.
So anyway I can't stand...
Meet The Robinsons - Looks awful. Disney, don't become Dreamworks!!
The Emperor's New Groove - Two words. Pure Trash.
Lilo & Stitch - Never seen it, but my parents keep telling me it's terrible. but they never saw it either.
CapnOlaf 03-22-2007, 11:04 PM Meet The Robinsons - Looks awful. Disney, don't become Dreamworks!!
It hasn't even come out yet, >_<! DREAMWORKS?!
spot41414 03-22-2007, 11:05 PM I hated Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Ugh.
~Spotty
Neoteny 03-23-2007, 12:29 AM Meet the Robinsons hasn't even come out yet! >_<
Home on the Range was the worst.
Oh, and you forgot The Wild
Actually, The Wild was not a Disney production. Like Valiant, Toy Story, and Spirited Away, it was released by Disney but made by someone else. My list in the original post is the official list of "Walt Disney Animated Classics."
According to Wikipedia:The following is a list of the forty-nine feature films that are part of the Walt Disney Feature Animation (WDFA) canon, also known as the Walt Disney Animated Classics. The canon includes animated features that were or are being produced entirely by WDFA. Not included are live action films that feature animation, spin-offs from Disney television shows, the direct-to-video films produced by the DisneyToons studio in Australia (some of which received theatrical releases), or the Pixar films. WDFA once announced that Home on the Range (released April 2, 2004) would be its final traditionally animated film, and from Chicken Little (released November 4, 2005) onwards, all future WDFA films would be computer animated. However, this changed in July 2006, when a new traditionally animated film, The Frog Princess, was revealed to be in development.
And yeah, people, stop selecting Meet the Robinsons unless you've actually seen it. I did request (in bold, capital letters) that people not vote for movies which they have not seen.
Misskayla 03-23-2007, 12:36 AM The Rescuers Down Under
Home on the Range
Blahhh....
Geez, all the ones you guys hate..I LOVE!!
Atlantis and Treasure planet are the bomb to me. ^_^
Dizznygrl 03-23-2007, 12:44 AM I would have to say I hate Disney's Peter Pan.
Why?
Because it disgraces the original Peter Pan.
I mean, I love the story of Peter Pan, but when Disney recreated it, they disgraced the orginal version.
If you watch the Special Features on the new DVD, though, you will see why they did it differently from the stage play. The historians make some very good points. Watch it. You will see.
moviedude 03-23-2007, 12:53 AM Aw, i like Atlantis. Haven't seen Treasure Planet.
I would say Chicken Little is the worst. & Lilo & Stitch really is too over-rated.
Mizz.V 03-23-2007, 12:56 AM Eh Treasure planet Has to go...
alubadubdub 03-23-2007, 01:13 AM The Emperor's New Groove
and
Brother Bear
never ever enjoyed those two.

BaHuLiPhSp 03-23-2007, 03:06 AM Atlantis and Treasure Planet.
KEBSD 03-23-2007, 03:11 AM Poor Treasure Planet and Atlantis :(
They are pretty good. I am guessing that some of you don't like those movies because they are unpopular... o_o I might be guessing wrong... but... yeah.
If this is okay...
Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen... yuck.
EDIT:Just noticed that the name of the thread was ANIMATED movies... sorry o_o
~Key
Cinnamon Minuet 03-23-2007, 09:14 AM Favorite: The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977)
Hate: The Emperor's New Groove (2000), Lilo & Stitch (2002), Treasure Planet (2002), Brother Bear (2003), andHome on the Range (2004).
~Al
Neoteny 03-23-2007, 11:13 AM I'm surprised at how disliked The Emperor's New Groove is. I think it's hilarious. It's one of the few non-musicals on the list that I really enjoy.
prisoner 03-23-2007, 11:53 AM I was originally going to say New Groove, but thank you, everyone, for reminding me of all the other ones that were pretty much down in the dregs:
New Groove
Disney's answer to the cheap knock-off animations that were beginning to come out. Bad animation, heavy on the blunt morals, and a dull storyline.
Atlantis
"Hey! Anime is really popular! We should make something like this!" was clearly what the executives were thinking. Unfortunately, the outcome was a mess of mixed animation styles with none of the charm that anime brings.
Treasure Planet
Who cares? I mean, really. Just who cares?
Home on the Range
The story could have done with a few more rewrites, and maybe it would have made for a decent animated short. But as it was, everything about it (from the story to the animation) was clearly rushed so they could fire the staff.
Pochahontas
A bit heavy-handed on the message, and historically inaccurate. If you're going to use historic figures, you should at least make an effort to be vaguely correct. (The video sequel, oddly enough, was probably more accurate.)
The Sword in the Stone
A rambling mess. More like an animated short that they padded out by adding songs and scenes that did nothing to progress the meager storyline.
And while there are some shorts from the early movies that I like (of those I saw), I really have trouble thinking of them as "features" as a whole in the same way that the pre-war features were.
jsmall 03-23-2007, 12:56 PM I loved New Groove.
Neoteny 03-23-2007, 03:50 PM I loved New Groove.
Aha! So I'm not the only one!
NenaEeyore 03-23-2007, 03:56 PM Atlantis
Treasure Planet
Tibby 03-23-2007, 03:56 PM TARZAN. so boring
mktourist 03-23-2007, 04:58 PM Here's my list.
Weak
Atlantis
Brother Bear
Weaker
Hercules
Weakest
Home on the Range
Treasure Planet
Boring
Fantasia
With the exception of the Sorcerer's Apprentice segment. Unfortunately, it is only a segment of the entirety. Gee I wonder why they always show that when they talk about this movie. Having seen the movie, I'll be content to never view it again.
Disappointing
Pocahontas
Visual effects and soundtrack are great. Like Priz, I have a problem with revisionist versions of Historical Facts. Rewriting folklore, stories and legends is entirely different from rewriting History.
krazyguitargirl 03-27-2007, 07:19 AM I would have to choose Fantasia 2000. But if this was a favorite movie thing I would have chosen pretty much half of them, but that is if it was the favorites. I don't know why ppl don't like Treasure Planet. (that was a good movie) :)
LiberianGirl 03-28-2007, 03:49 AM The Hunchback of Notre Dame... blah....
DarthRobbie 03-28-2007, 05:08 AM So a few people see the light, Hunchback and Pocahontas are perhaps the worst Disney produced movies. I have a hard time with anyone that dislikes the classics such as Fantasia, perhaps you should watch it again when you get older. I would also like to stick up for Lilo, Emperor, and Atlantis, these were all good movies in their own right, you just have to know what to expect before seeing the films....
DarthRobbie

In the case of Atlantis, you have to know to expect a bad film.
Rachal 03-28-2007, 05:59 AM Eww, never liked Atlantis. I have to say the The Wild wasn't really that great of a movie, it was a bad version of Madagascar. I didn't like the animation that much either.

Boring is boring whether you call it a classic or not. Sorry! if that causes you difficulty. I don't have any difficulty at all with your opinion. You're entitled to have one even when it's wrong. Thanks! for the suggestion but I'm old enough to know what I like. :)
keola123456 03-28-2007, 07:22 AM Atlantis and Treasure Planet. definently
Wendot 03-28-2007, 03:22 PM Atlantis is the worst that I've seen from the list. The Fox and the Hound is close behind, because it makes me too sad and I'll probably never watch it again.
Who was A Goofy Movie produced by that makes it not a full Disney animated feature? (EDIT: Or did it go straight to video? I forgot.)
Neoteny 03-28-2007, 03:42 PM Who was A Goofy Movie produced by that makes it not a full Disney animated feature? (EDIT: Or did it go straight to video? I forgot.)
It was a theatrical release, but it's not considered by Disney to be one of the offical "Walt Disney Animated Classics."
It was produced by a separate Disney studio called DisneyToon Studios (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DisneyToon_Studios), which also made Teacher's Pet, The Tigger Movie, Return to Neverland, and most of the direct-to-video Disney sequels.

Thanks for clearing that up. I actually liked that movie and still stick by Atlantis as the worst. :)
iShadow 03-28-2007, 04:53 PM Neo and Wendot, why are you considering the great A Goofy Movie and An Extremely Goofy Movie films to be bad?
They were great in my opinion, and did their purpose.
They were meant to end the amazing cartoon series, Goof Troop, and put Goofy and Max and Pete and everybody into the limelight two last times.
Personally, I think everybody in Goof Troop deserves a top rank in Disney.
Also, did you know that the series won an award? Don't remember which one, but it certainly did. Lemme check the Wiki.
PS. We all know Goofy is a widow, but they never explained who was his wife....
Wendot 03-28-2007, 04:57 PM Neo and Wendot, why are you considering the great A Goofy Movie and An Extremely Goofy Movie films to be bad?
Check the bold:
Thanks for clearing that up. I actually liked that movie and still stick by Atlantis as the worst. :)
I said that A Goofy Movie is a movie I liked. I never saw An Extremely Goofy Movie.
iShadow 03-28-2007, 05:01 PM Check the bold:
I said that A Goofy Movie is a movie I liked. I never saw An Extremely Goofy Movie.
Oh ok. Guess I didn't see that.
Did you like the series, Goof Troop?
Astroshadykid 03-28-2007, 06:20 PM Atlantis and Treasure Planet.
Neoteny 03-28-2007, 06:32 PM I never said that the Goofy movies were bad, either. I only said that they didn't count as "Walt Disney Animated Classics." That's Disney's term for them, not mine.
iShadow 03-28-2007, 06:39 PM I never said that the Goofy movies were bad, either. I only said that they didn't count as "Walt Disney Animated Classics." That's Disney's term for them, not mine.
Disney made a mistake then. Why would movies honoring one of Disney's classic characters not be an animated classic?
Also, Neo, have you ever seen the TV series?
JessCats 03-28-2007, 06:50 PM I would have to say Treasure planet
BlueJalepeno 03-29-2007, 12:55 AM They are all soo good!
I never cared for Fantasia, Jungle Book, or Pinocchio Though!
kingsley_shackl 03-30-2007, 10:36 PM I don't like Stitch (I cried)
Much Love- Annie (goofy_rox)
Chaelle 04-03-2007, 11:56 PM The Hunchback of Notre Dame scared me to bits. I think most of the story is depressing- if I was brave enough to watch the whole thing, but I wimped out.
~Chaelle
Disneyzoodude 04-04-2007, 01:39 PM The Rescuers Down Under (1990), Surprisingly. I didn't really like it... It had a good story but still, I didn't like it.
vmkacegirl 04-05-2007, 02:52 AM i think home on the range is a horribel movie ( i did not think it was funny )
chorustwo 04-06-2007, 03:41 AM Home on the Range was a complete waste of 1 hour at the movie theatre. I Liked Meet the Robinsons honeslty. Probaly the best. Yes, for a stitch lover like me, even better then Lilo and Stitch. Meet the Robinsons made me look toward the future. I like that thought tons. I liked Atlantis! I just like sci-fi non-freaky movies. Their kinda cool:)
Roxychick 04-06-2007, 05:01 AM i have got to say kronks new groove was the worst disney movie but that is opianion someome else might like it but i dont
