There's nothing stupid at all about your question. But there are a couple of answers. :)

"A wiki" nowadays refers to a website where it is quick and easy for people to edit and make corrections, or to add new, pages. The most popular of these is the Wikipedia - an online encyclopedia where people constantly update the articles.

We have our own wiki at Disneys Online Worlds (http://www.disneysonlineworlds.com/) where we just record everything that we can about VMK. Most of the time, here on VMKF, when we talk about "the wiki" we're talking about the one that we're editing. This particular part of the forum is dedicated to discussing it.

This is commonly known as a "backronym" - an word that is later turned into an acronym by coming up with words to fit it. The origin of the computer term "wiki" comes from an early such system known as "WikiWikiWeb", which was a play on "World Wide Web" but using the term "Wiki Wiki" which comes from a Hawaiian term for "fast".
