starting march they released the new set for DLR
a dragon set.

but i was wondering do they come out the first day of march or the first saturday?

I would guess the first of march but i could be wrong. Check Dizpins they migt know.

In my experience, the new DLR cast lanyard pins can be released anytime after the first of the month.

A Cast Lanyard pin, now referred to as a Hidden Mickey pin, is a type of collectible pin. What makes it unique is that they're not sold in the parks - you have to trade for them from Cast Member lanyards.

Ok, I like the dragon series, but I just have to ask: Where's Figment?
The reason Figment won't be released in this series is because Figment is Epcot's mascot and only released at WDW. The dragon series is only released at DLR and, therefore, won't contain any WDW-exclusive characters (including Figment).
