View Full Version : Scare Bear's Space Art
Scarry Girl 03-01-2007, 02:06 AM These are all my space art. The farther down the list, the more recent they are. The first one was my first space art. Robinus, Illusia, and Kelmina (and the combined pic) were made the first day I started making space art. They are a little rough but good for a start. Scroll down more to see my most recent.
(Remember, it goes oldest to newest, so my newest will be last on the list)

adorablepup 03-01-2007, 02:10 AM Wow! These are really good! Did you make these from scratch?
BasketballFarrah 03-01-2007, 02:23 AM Stop making me jealous Scarry!! Lol.
Fairy 03-01-2007, 05:37 AM OMG you could sell those for like 100$! Gosh.. Your a real artist...

Scarry Girl 03-01-2007, 08:13 PM Wow! These are really good! Did you make these from scratch?
Mostly, but I use textures for the planets to give it that realistic look, and Beauty and Grace I used star brushes for the starfield (I was lazy that day).
Stop making me jealous Scarry!! Lol.
If you want to learn how to make these I could pm you a list of useful tutorials that I refered to when I needed help.
OMG you could sell those for like 100$! Gosh.. Your a real artist...
I am actually selling some of my best ones as prints on an art site and they are less than 100$ (for the smaller sizes at least)
@_@ Oh....my.....gosh....
Please tell me you're an astronaut that's in a completely other galaxy taking these photos....
I wish! I used to want to be an astronaut and stuff, but so far alls we've been to is the moon (not counting the mars rover and the probes) I'd want to go above and beyond. The Moon AND Mars is not that far away. I'd rather go somewhere like... like the places I paint in my space art.
Thanks everyone! :D
Scarry Girl 03-08-2007, 05:32 AM I made this one today:
http://img156.**************/img156/9338/nebulaseh1.png
A lot of time and hard work. Lots and lots of brushing @_@
BadgerHockey 03-08-2007, 05:36 AM Wow! These are so pretty . . .
Do you mind if I could use one of them as a DeskTop background?
I understand if you don't want me to. :D

Thanks! Well... I am far from professional. There are people on art sites that are much better then me... which is probably why I did not get into that space artist club *mutters to self* -.-
Penguinz 03-08-2007, 04:30 PM Scarry, you rock at this stuff.
Your going to be AWESOME when your older!
~Fantasy
P.S: Great work... :D You should draw the earth from a space view.

Awww thanks :D  I really appreciate it. I am improving at a very fast rate. In 2 months it went from amateur to ... well not master, there are still people much better than me, so maybe normal? I hope to master the art of space art in the next few months. I really really like this form of art, I just may become a professional artist some day. That seems to be the road I am currently on, and I LOVE art so...
Dudetteroxs 03-08-2007, 10:11 PM No way, those are so cool! I really, really, like them! I love the otherworldly paradise. :o)

Thank you :D
You should really submit these in a contest or something!!
Thanks :) I may, but for me it is not about winning anything, its just about the experience and about being able to create something. I'm not out to prove myself, neither do I need to, to be successful. But if I find space art contest some day I might enter in it.
Dudetteroxs 03-09-2007, 01:35 AM I do like them! ^^ Especially the first one. Keep up the good work! ^^

Scarlet_Princess 03-09-2007, 01:43 AM Scarry these are amazing!!! My art teacher would LOVE you!!We have to send in these 3-D sketch book pages every Monday...most people just do line drawings... Did you paint these?Or make them with the computer?Either way they are AMAZING!!!
Penguinz 03-09-2007, 02:15 AM Most likely you do em' on the computer, but if you do, do you use photoshop?
Thanks!

Yup photoshop. I love photoshop!
Omges that looks so good! You are really improving! I love it <3
wow i wish i could draw like that. what materials did you use?
Thank you :D I used Photoshop CS2, I get the stock images for my photomanips from many different stock photo artists (stock photos are sharable photos submitted for the use of other people - so other people can make photomanips and such) on art sties, that is also where I get textures and look at tutorials. Although I will be making my own textures soon. :D
snowegoof 03-09-2007, 11:07 PM so you did those on your COMPUTER?!?! i thought you drew them by hand!! you are awesome!!
Penguinz 03-10-2007, 02:56 AM Gee, thanks Scarry. I made my own thing. I only use brushes though, since I'm lazy like that....
http://img206.**************/img206/3270/outerspaceyh1.png
Not near to as good as you.
Scarry Girl 03-10-2007, 07:35 PM so you did those on your COMPUTER?!?! i thought you drew them by hand!! you are awesome!!
LOL!! OMG that would be so hard! And the quality would not be that good. I mess up a lot so I would never get one done if I did them on canvas with real paint. At least with photoshop there is a "Edit > Step Backward" so I can undo my mistakes. XD
Gee, thanks Scarry. I made my own thing. I only use brushes though, since I'm lazy like that....

That looks pretty good, lol you used brushes? Well that is a good start, but try looking up tutorials on art sites to learn how to make your own planets and stars. That is what I did :D
Penguinz 03-10-2007, 08:48 PM Heh, thanks.
:D
Yeah, brushes are my best buddies!

None of the pictures work, and I don't think I have the verzion they are talking about.
I have Photoshop Elements 4.0
BlueJalepeno 03-11-2007, 01:06 AM Those are pretty amazing.
If you don't do this as your life proffession you're making a serious mistake! ;)
Nice work :D
MsHyper 03-11-2007, 01:15 AM Those are seriously amazing, Scarry. I have to agree with everyone,
you could make a living by going professional in computer arts and
such! Great work :D

Hmmm since you already have a version of photoshop, see if you can get a free update. Coral offered me a free update for Paint Shop Pro 9 to Paint Shop Pro 10 (of course I did not take it becasue the ratings are not as good for psp10). I am not sure if you can, but it is worth trying and researching it. If not you may have to get the new version, CS2 (or I would wait until CS3 comes out which is soon). Most of the tutorials are for 7.0 or higher (CS2 is 9 I think).
Those are pretty amazing.
If you don't do this as your life proffession you're making a serious mistake! ;)

Thank you very much! I do plan on becoming an artist, I hope. :D

 MsHyper
Thanks! Well, we'll see. I am not too sure I could make a living just on selling art alone. I'd also probably have to go to college for art to be respected as a professional artist, but I plan on doing that anyway so no worries. lol XD
Penguinz 03-11-2007, 07:37 AM How do I update though?
~Fantasy
Destination 03-11-2007, 07:41 AM wow they almost look like they could be real
Scarry Girl 03-11-2007, 06:38 PM How do I update though?
~Fantasy
Hmmm not sure. Maybe there is something in photoshop, like in help or support or something where it tells you how to update. Either that try going on the adobe site. I have no idea if you can though. You might have to buy a new version, or keep the current version, but I guarantee it will be hard finding good space art tutorials for version 4. Some of the tools might be the same for 7+ and for 4, so follow the tutorials as best you can. I mean there are probably the basic tools and filters that the current photoshop. Try experimenting a little with it. I have no idea what your version is like.
wow they almost look like they could be real
Thank you! That is my aim. This kind of art is in the category digital realism.
Shopping_sweetie 03-11-2007, 06:46 PM Omgoodnesssses your such an artist i think your making everyone here jealous!!!

Hmmmmmm..... well in tutorials from the art site you have to click on the image to enlarge it. Try refreshing it, or see if there are any plug ins you need. Other than that I do not know what to tell you. What browser are you using?
Penguinz 03-11-2007, 06:57 PM I am using IE.
Also, I am unable to buy Photoshop CS2, $600 is not a cheap thing.
Oh well, I'll stick to my friends.

Hmm have you tried Firefox? That is what I use and the tutorials seem work in that.
Wow are you serious?? That is expensive! Man... lol I thought it was like 200 or something, I never imagined 600 XD (my brother bought me the one I use)
Penguinz 03-11-2007, 07:22 PM Yeah, 600 dollars. -_-
Nope, I haven't tried Firefox yet (I have it though).
I don't need them anymore anyway, I can't afford the program.

iShadow 03-28-2007, 06:37 PM Have you ever considered a future career in game-designing or land-scaping?
With your talents, both careers would be great for you. :)

Cinnamon Minuet 03-30-2007, 06:46 AM You're so good....Do you mind if I use one of those as an avatar on another site??
The one in your last post actually.
If you were to sell these, Penguinz would have enough to buy her $600 program.
And maybe, you'd fund some trip to go to outer space and take photos for them to bring back for you to brainstorm with someday.
<3 them. ~Al

Thanks. Sure, just if someone asks where you got it tell them that I made it ok? ;)
I have some of my art as prints on an art site but no one has bought any yet. You know they already send probes and stuff into space to take pictures, and they use the Hubble telescope. I already have a book of pictures of places in the universe (my personal fav is the Horsehead nebulae)
flowergirlbecca 03-30-2007, 04:21 PM Wow! These are amazing! Did you use tutorials for them? If so can I have the link? lol!

Thats fine, i was asking Scarry, and i was doing so because its a great site to sell and showcase your work, wasnt trying to find out anything personal.

Thanks. I looked at tutorials when I first started but I only look at them occasionally (when I do something I have never done before. Sometimes I do not find what I am looking for and I have to experiment, or sometimes the techniques in the tutorials do not work for me and I have to improvise). If you want some links to some good tutorials pm me and I will pm some links to you. :)
