View Full Version : Question on Disneyland (DLR) MasterMario 02-24-2007, 01:47 PM One question. Is the Disneyland in California the same as Disney World in Florida? To simplify this question, Is it set up the same? Jacques 02-24-2007, 03:42 PM Well, yes and no. Disneyland's Florida counterpart is called The Magic Kingdom. Disney World is the entire complex (includes EPCOT Center, Animal Kingdom, water parks, etc.) The basic layout for the park is the same, but the two don't share all the lands. DLR has New Orleans Square, and WDW has Liberty Square. Also, Magic Kimgdom is -much- larger. There are many other differences, but those are the basics. PinkPinkNicole 02-24-2007, 03:45 PM Not exactly. One main difference i can think off at the moment is in WDW, they have a whole floor for VMK central, with computers and everything. But in DL, they only have a small booth. Jacques 02-24-2007, 03:55 PM Well, the small booth is just the quest redemption area. Innoventions has two locations for playing the game. MasterMario 02-24-2007, 03:58 PM I was talking with my mom and she said it was set up the same. Does Walt Disneyland have the same rides as WDW snowgalsnow 02-24-2007, 04:03 PM well WDW has epoct and DL has epoct i think but WDW is bigger that is the best difference i can give sorry Jacques 02-24-2007, 04:05 PM Disneyland does not have EPCOT. Disneyland has a majority of the same rides WDW's MK has. They try to keep the parks pretty similar. MasterMario 02-24-2007, 04:13 PM Ok, I understand PinkPinkNicole 02-24-2007, 04:25 PM Well, the small booth is just the quest redemption area. Innoventions has two locations for playing the game. Wow really?? I had no idea! I went there a month ago, i wish I had known that :( NaviMap 02-24-2007, 04:25 PM Comparatively, you'll find similar attractions (that share the same name) in both Resorts which may have slight to significant differences between the versions and where they are placed in their respective resorts. Just as Jacques said earlier, the main parks of both resorts (Magic Kingdom Park and Disneyland Park) have a very similar set-up. However, there are big differences between the two. All of the Properties of the Disneyland Resort cover a little over 1 sq mile while the Walt Disney World Property covers more land than the City of San Fransisco (~47 sq mi). The entrances of the 2 Disneyland Resort parks face each other with a esplanade/Entrance Plaza between them (easy to park hop). To park hop in Walt Disney World is a 5-10 drive or if you use the monorail or resort's own bus system. Non-Disney hotel properties are at least a 10 min drive from any of the 4 theme parks. Both the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World both have attractions unique to their resort and unique variations on the attractions they do share. What WDW has but Disneyland does not. (limited list of major attractions, not all attractions listed-that list would be longer): Rockin' Roller Coaster Lights Motors Action Stunt Show Great Movie Ride Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular Beauty and Beast Stage Show Test Track Mission SPACE Illuminations Expedition Everest Dinosaur Kilimanjaro Safaris Finding Nemo The Musical Festival of The Lion King Mickey's Philharmagic Stitch's Great Escape Monsters Inc Comedy Club Wishes! (CL_Beckys in it xD) and same with upstairs. except no mr. whirrly :( also try getting somebody tall to let you see over the construction site of the Nemo ride, that, or you can go wait in line for Autopia and see an airplane veiw of it. it seems like you've never been to DLR so i'm just telling you PS: walt disney actually walked on DLR grounds, not WDW Jacques 02-27-2007, 02:38 AM its because of limited space. unlike WDW, only two parks could fit in it Well, there is plenty of available farm land surrounding the park. The only problem is, DCA has been a failure financially. They don't want to invest in a third gate until they fix the second ....and DCA is actually a carnaval type place (it used to be DLR parking And it's exactly what Walt -didn't- want when he originally built Disneyland. PS: walt disney actually walked on DLR grounds, not WDW Not entirely true. Walt walked the grounds of WDW, but never saw the gates open. The park was completed 5 years after his death. GreatGatsby 02-27-2007, 02:48 AM Disneyland has no water parks...interrestingAfter all you should have learned in this thread by now, your statement is actually a very silly one. No, Disneyland had no water park, because Disneyland is a park. It's the same as saying "Magic Kingdom has no water park." The question of building a water park at the Disneyland Resort has actually been covered in a few threads on this site already. The story on it is basically a "third gate" has been rumored at the resort for awhile, but Bob Iger has stated unquestionably that another park will not be built until DCA becomes successful. Some of the rumors have been that the third gate would eventually be a water park. However, water park competition in Southern California is considerably greater than in the Orlando area, plus the amount of room available in Anaheim is actually pretty small, so the third gate is less likely to be a water park. |
