I don't think the pirate quest is coming until later. I did hear they give out the new frontierland quest on Sat to the first people into the park though. I have a good friend works in the Magic Kingdom and he hasn't been able to get any solid info on the pirate quest there yet. I won't post all the conflicting info they are saying in the park, because I think they just aren't sure yet.

I am going to WDW in the next year and I hope the quest is there. I will try to go on every quest available.

A little off topic but: does anybody know how much quests cost/if they do cost anything??

Thanks,
Paris

I searched for pirate quest in the popular room list. There was a room owned by i think CL_runawayBrain. He had all the quest stuff. He said he got in on the tour. He was willing to trade it all for inferno. Since I have so many inferno pins ( ha ha ) , I decided to past.

I would like to direct your attention here! (http://www.vmkforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10182)

A lot of people have the pirate stuff. They were lucky to be going before the heard about the quest. I hope to go soon, my parents are just waiting for money to go.

I'm going to pop by WDW today and see if I can get some info. So far the info I have is that it is NOT in WDW and it may only be here for the 10 days they close HM down for it's yearly repairs in November.

I'll try to find out more today and update later.

Nope. Both of these new quests are not here at WDW. We don't get anything cool. That's the disney law. They get cool stuff. We get squat and a playground to go with it. Search your feelings......you know this is true....

What are you talking about saying WDW gets squat. Let me think Disneyland celebrates its 50th birthday this year. but WDW gets all the stuff from different parks. like CInderelabration(or what ever it is called) from Tokyo, and that kewl stunt show form paris.

So to say that WDW gets squat is completely wrong in my mind. But people that live near DLR think that and people that live near WDW think there own thing to. so oh well. Just had to stay my opinion. :)

Actually the show might be from Tokyo, but the cast in it are all locals. I don't know about the stunt show...

You have to be insane to watch the Cinderella show in this Florida sun.., and I've still yet to see the stunt show.. I'd gladly give these two shows up for a chicken hat.

And I read first ppl in the park on Saturday get a new Frontierland Quest? Kind of impossible seeing the Frontierland Quest already exists.

I really hope for a surprise something whatever tomorrow, and I'll be so disappointed if there's nothing new beyond the Tomorrowland Quest.

I called the Main Street Cinema (WDW) today and asked about the POTC Quest and Frontierland series 2 Quest. He told me they probably won't be at WDW until later this year. I might go into the park tomorrow to see if I can get updated information.

I would definitely hands down have to disagree with this statement.. I would have to say the Walt Disney Company has a huge biased in favor of the Walt Disney World resort, allowing this resort to host four huge Celebrations in the past 10 years, and only showing that resort in their theme park promotions. They have built so many things in the Walt Disney World resort in just this past year it's not even funny, while i have not heard of exactly what new rides nor attractions Disneyland has received, and the reason is.. Disney has only pushed Walt Disney World for this celebration, when it's not even their birthday.. If anything, i think Disneyland fans should be jealous that Walt Disney World always has to steal Disneyland's thunder and is always stuck in it's shadow.. The Walt Disney World resort also receives way more visitors than Disneyland:mickey2:

As for the quest.. I saw a girl a while ago today who's screen name was Aliceblueeyes. Her signature stated that she worked in the Walt Disney World resort and had a Born in Park badge. I noticed she was wearing the hat from the pirate quest, so i asked her if the quest was in Magic Kingdom and she replied with a yes.. It's not the most reliable source.. but i believe it. :mickey2:

Uh, i had three Magic Mirrors at one time and could have probably gotten more. I live in Florida but is in no way a Floridian..
The point of the matter is.. Disney created this game for people to go to their parks.. so by splitting up certain quest items into two of their resorts is sheer business Genius. If you want that stuff, you not only have to go to one of their parks.. but both.. Genius :)

It's not about who gets more rides, It's about who gets the better rides. Like, How they have an AMAZING Pirates. our Pirates is very short and not as good. We get Dinosaur, they get the far better Indiana Jones Adventure. They get Haunted Mansion Holiday, we don't. They just got a Buzz ride that is way better then ours. And as for future attractions, They get to see the long awaited return of Submarine Voyage. Our sub lagoon was just filled in for a Playground. Easy to see who got the short end of the stick there. The only ride we have here that is better then the first version that came from disneyland is Soarin'. And that's it. To sum it all up, We have a bunch of good rides spread in a wide area. Disneyland makes up for the lack of size by having a bunch of great rides in a smaller space. :mickey2:

I'm a <teen> year old who likes big thrill rides and big roller coasters.. All those rides you just mentioned are for kids and couldn't satisfy anybody over the age of 10.. If i think they're boring in the Magic Kingdom park I really wouldn't be envious of the Disneyland theme park ride counterparts.. As for spreading the attractions throughout the whole resort.. Disney is smart and spread around the best attractions so that visitors would HAVE to visit all four theme parks to complete their Walt Disney World experience.. Disney doesn't care about what's fair or what's cheapest for their costumer, they care about how to make money.. That submarine ride doesn't sound like a high speed roller coaster, which not only means i'm not interested on ever going on it, but that it more than likely will be corny as well.. :mickey2:

Posting this from DisneyWorld.

I called VMK central at WDW a few days ago about the new series 2 frontierland quest they hand out on Saturday morning. The guy at VMK central said they DID hand out the new quest at the gate on Saturdays only, first come first serve. So I stayed at a WDW hotel last night to be at the gates bright and early :)

This morning I went to Magic Kingdom WDW at 9 am as the gates opened. No new frontierland quest. :(

I went to VMK central and spoke with the guy there. After him telling me there was NO series 2 quests at WDW park yet he showed me an internal memo to all VMK central staff. The memo was sent from the guy who runs all of the VMK stuff for the parks.

Basicly the memo said that Disneyland on Sept 12 would be starting the switch to the series 2 starting with the new frontier quest on Saturday mornings and the pirate quest while the HM was changed for the holidays. It also highlighted that WDW would NOT be making the switch to series 2 when DLR did, but they WOULD be switching sometime before the end of the year. The exact time for WDW's switch is yet unknown. It could be November, it could be December, but it would be before the end of the year.

The VMK staff member who showed me the memo also said most likely the guy I spoke with on the phone early that week had read the memo and not noticed it said DISNEYLAND would have the new quests on Sept 12 NOT WDW. He took pity on me for getting up so early and gave me 2 "500 credits" VMK cards for my troubles -lol- He also told me in a hushed tone that most likely the pirates quest would be here when HM closed for refurb in November, but he could not really give me more details.

So as of right now after seeing this internal memo we know a few things that we all were pretty sure of.

Until November the Quests will be the same old ones at WDW. Sometime in November or December they will switch WDW over to the series 2 quests just like DLR. There is NO new series 2 frontierland quest handed out at the gates on Saturday mornings, it will come when WDW switches over before the end of the year.

I feel better now having read that memo, because now I KNOW whats going on instead of guessing and trying to ask staff who have no idea what I am talking about :P

its called Finding Nemo's Submarine Voyage..stop calling it the submarine ride lol jk. and just to state my opinion about whats the better park. WDW is just a huge tourist trap. the have all the rides in disneyland spread out into 4 with a few different rides. the HM closes for the HM holidays so disney has to do something to draw people into the tour, thats not our fault and stop crying about it and move to california if you want the stupid hat. and does anybody know when series 3 is coming out? lol

This is going to be my last post on this subject.. I don't know how many times i have to say it that the Disneyland resort is second best, receiving only about 18 million people a year, while the Walt Disney World resort should not even consider anything competition, not even Universal studios Orlando (which only pulls in around 13 million). For it pulls in an unbelievable 40 million people a year (that makes it the world's number one tourist attraction, I'm sure Disney is extremely proud of that). See those two numbers.. 18 million vs. 40 million, which resort is the Walt Disney Company going to cheerish and going to make the most prophet off of? Those numbers are fact and were not changed by my personal bias.
You seem to have some real beef with Walt Disney World for building that playground.. I've heard on WDWmagic.com that the playground is just a temporary solution for a future attraction that will host that spot in the future.. Does that make you happy now? :mickey2:

Haunted Mansion is closing down for refurb during November will they have the pirate quest for those days. In my opinion i would say yes because people taking the your can not do the haunted mansion quest because haunted mansion will be shut down. That is what i am thinking anyone else have an opinion.

Ok I give. But please don't talk about wdw being better if you've never been to Disneyland. If you go you'll see. besides we get more vistors because we are a tourist destination. They also come to do all the other 3 parks, universal, seaworld. So your joe normal from another country or state will see that we have MORE. They don't go for better rides. They go for more rides. Disneyland is mostly locals because they know. They have much better rides. (including coasters and thrill rides alike) I've talked to alot of friends from Disneyland and their first impressions of WDW are always "wow. WDW is big. Really big. But our rides are better though." So please, Don't mess with Disneyland until you've been. :mickey2:

The thing about WDW is..

it was (and remains) Walt's idea of a Showcase idea to where anything new, or flat out popular will be brought to this land where "EPCOT:center" was to run the entire show.

There was a time where characters were to remain OUT of EPCOT, as to not mix fantasy with reality or something like that.. Well, imagineers weren't having that, and they incorporated "Hidden Mickeys" inside EPCOT attractions.. and the rest is as they say, is history.

It's quite an honor to live so close to the Showcase location of The Happiest Place On Earth. But I really get bummed out that there's so much more out there, and so far away from my wallet's capabilities. :(

ok being new to this forum either that or i've not posted on here in a while but i personally feel that WDW is far more superior, i've seen more commercials here in the uk for WDW than anything else, plus being a regular visitor to wdw i personally would rather go to wdw more than any other disney park really.

Other than the commercials in the uk for wdw i've also seen them while on trips to new york so really you have to ask yourself which resort is disney mainly trying to pull internationally and state side the answer is WDW.
it doesn't matter about the celebrations i mean ok disneyland was the first park but on a money making side and tourist pull its wdw everytime.

i was at disneyland california last year and i didn't really like it but on a plus side the cost suited the resort.

i mean come on do u see disneyland have a test track, or a rock n rollercoaster, or a mission space? the answer is no, yes they did a tower of terror at california adventure i have to give them that but people that have been to both resorts would probably think that the ride should of stayed at wdw.

sorry but that's my opinion you either like it or ya don't!
