Hey everyone! In my spare time I am writing a story about the Chronicles of Disneyland, and the first part of the story is called "Legends of Darkness". The Kingdom Keepers book gave me some inspiration. ;) I'll continue to post the chapters here for you to enjoy. Here's the first chapter:

Chapter 1

Gligar was no ordinary boy. He was unusual in many ways; he was sometimes very well behaved; while at other times he was not. Sometimes he did well on tests; sometimes he did terrible. After coming home, Gligar would usually do his homework and then rush to his computer to look at Disney web sites. Gligar was obsessed with Disney. His entire room was packed with Disney stuff, and he always looked forward to his annual trip to Disneyland. However, one morning as Gligar arrived at San Francisco Middle School, he was in his worst ‘misbehaving mode’ ever. He stormed through the halls, an angry expression on his face, and he knocked down several people who were walking past him. Gligar took his math test and cheated off the nerd sitting next to him. He stole others desserts during lunch. He beat up a small boy at recess. Gligar was furious. The reason for Gligar’s outrageous behavior was the discussion Gligar had had with his mother.

“Sit down, sweety,” Gligar’s mother said. “Now, Gligar, unfortunately the bills are getting too high this year,” Gligar’s mother began. “My job down at the cleaners just isn’t making us enough money. This means,” she gulped, “that we will not be able to go to Disneyland this year. Gligar just sat there, unmoving. Until finally he said, “This family stinks.” And he stormed up the stairs and went to bed.

Gligar, at first, cried. He was devastated. Not going to Disneyland was like losing a family member to him. After he cried for a few hours, he began to curse his mother and her ‘cheap’ job. His father was dead; he worked for the military and was killed in a battle. Since then, Gligar’s small family had become what you would call ‘poor’. They used to live in a nice house; now they lived in a small shack near the local dump. But Gligar’s mother always had gotten Gligar to Disneyland. Always. Gligar supposed that was going to change starting now.

That night he went to bed without eating dinner, and he did not give his mother her usual hug and kiss. He went to sleep and had dreams about Disneyland… how he wanted to go ride Space Mountain again. He felt like he could just reach out to the door to the attraction…! Gligar awoke with a start. He looked over at his clock. 12:00 PM. Gligar cursed loudly, but then everything started to change. A black cloud was forming before his bed, swirling and booming. Gligar panicked. He tried to get out of bed, but all his muscles went stiff. He could not move. He tried to scream and call for help; but it also seemed that his lips had sealed. The dark cloud engulfed him. It felt as if he was being thrown off a cliff, falling and falling and then…! He was lying on the floor next to the Partners Statue on Main Street USA, Disneyland.

Tell me if it's any good! :wave2:

Ariella: 'Gligar' is a title of a fellow VMK player. I just really liked the name. Anyways, here's the next chapter:

Chapter 2

Gligar got up and looked around. Everything was quiet; there were no sounds. No familiar park music. Then, he heard a voice. “Who are you?” Gligar scanned his surroundings; he saw no one. “Who’s there?” Gligar asked. A boy about Gligar’s age walked into view. He had pale skin with muddy brown eyes and black hair. To Gligar’s horror, the boy had no left hand: he had a hook instead. “My name is Hook,” the boy said slowly. “Who are you?” Gligar’s mind was racing. He was apparently in Disneyland... and with a boy named ‘Hook’. “Who are you?” Hook repeated. “My name is Gligar,” Gligar replied. “But this is all just a dream… in a minute I’ll wake up in my bed…” “I don’t think this is a dream,” Hook interrupted. He walked up to Gligar and punched him in the arm. “Ow!” Gligar cried in pain. “Did that hurt?” Hook asked. “Yes, it did!” Gligar said angrily. “Ok then, this isn’t a dream. In dreams you don’t feel pain.” Gligar thought, and realized he was right. “My name’s Gligar,” he said slowly. “And I guess this isn’t a dream.” “You’re right, this isn’t a dream!” a cheerful voice cried. A plump, short little man with a long beard and white hair walked up to them coming from the castle. “Hello, hello!” the man’s cheerful voice boomed. “Come with me, come with me!” There’s much to tell you…” He led them to Fantasyland, and they entered the Fantasyland Theatre. Two girls were already waiting there. “Now,” the peculiar man began, “My name is Locine, and you are Gligar, Hook, Amanda, and Sarah, correct?” There was a murmur of yes’s. “Good. Now, let me make it clear that you ARE in Disneyland. This is no dream. You entered through a magical process called ‘Shadow Warping’. Until your task is complete, you will warp to Disneyland every night at midnight. “Magic?” Gligar interjected. “What do you mean by ‘magic’? Magic doesn’t exist.” “Ah, but it does. There are two types of magic: good magic, and dark magic. Lately, dark magic has been growing in Disneyland. For instance, have you noticed that Mickey has not been around the park? There’s a sign at his house that says ‘Mickey is on vacation! Come back soon!’, but of course that’s not what’s happening.” “I would not know if Mickey wasn’t around, I can only go to Disneyland once a year,” Gligar said. “Well, behind the scenes, all of Mickey’s costumes have disappeared. So now the actor Mickey’s and the real Mickey is gone…” “REAL Mickey?” Amanda asked. “All will be explained when you complete your task,” Locine said calmly. “But what is our task?” Sarah asked. “Well,” Locine began, “Like I said before, dark magic is growing in the kingdom. Walt Disney knew how it was happening and how to stop the darkness. He wrote them down on six pieces of parchment and titled it the ‘Legends of Darkness’. He hid them throughout the park. The first part I have, and it is the key to finding the other parts. “Where did you find it?” Hook asked curiously. “I found it in a book in the apartment above the fire station. I have it right here.” Locine took out a battered page of parchment. In black ink Gligar could clearly see “Legends of Darkness” written on the top of the page. “This first page has a riddle that will help you find the others,” Locine said. “I will read the page:”

The Legends of Darkness, Page 1

Disneyland has magic everywhere, both good and bad. These pages tell the secrets of the bad, or dark, magic. These pages are hidden throughout the kingdom.

For the first page, you will need to look to the trees.
I gave another page to my best friend; I’m sure he’s kept it safe.
I gave the third page to the friendliest people in the world.
The fourth page went to the place that always had room for one more.
And I gave the final page to a friend, who was an explorer and I never saw him again…

Signed, Walt Disney

There was silence for several minutes. Finally, Gligar said “I just have one question. You said that we got here each night through a process called “Shadow Warping”. Is the darkness doing that?” “No, no, no… it’s that our side has knows a little magic too,” Locine said. He winked, and snapped his fingers. Gligar awoke in his bed.

More to come soon! :)

EDIT: Please feel free to guess what attractions the other parts of the legends are in!
